Exactly no voltage available it just let it go to 1.125v like the others

So i guess only way forward is the Galax 2000w 1.2v bios which is nowhere to be found

Yeah it's here, sajin left the link earlier.

You talking about the kingpin xoc vbios or the galax one that I just linked?

Ok, so I tried the 2000W bios but its the same results.. it get up to 1.125v and no options for further voltage unless I need some kind of speciel tool? or Afterburner custom?

Anyone know how the steps are for getting the voltage to 1.2? Should I use the curve editor? It IS enabled on this BIOS

Glad to hear the voltage/frequency curve is enabled on the galax vbios. You can use my guide to try and attempt to adjust the voltage up to 1.2v.

Well I just tried and no matter what it just wont go past 1.125v .. even if I force it..  quite strange  actually?   Back then when I had my 1080 GTX with custom bios it actually did work on 1.2v .. Dont know whats holding it back or locking it..  ?

Must just be capped at 1.125v in the vbios. Did you also have the voltage slider maxed out?

Ok it dident crash but nor giving the extra juice..  hmmm wonder if its even possible then to bump that voltage up without the Kingpin card itself? ..

My card is sadly not that OC friendly .. it tops at 2025-2040mhz with the 1.125v   which is low compared to my first 2080 Ti which took 2115mhz on stock bios... But thats the sillicon lottery I guess..  If anyone hears of a method of the magic 1.2v I would love to hear..

Without a kingpin type card it looks like you're going to be limited to 1.093-1.125v unless you do some hard modding.

Yeah you are properly right. So what kind of hardmodding would be involved? Any guides? Do you have any knowledge?  I just wanna see and go over them before I do anything dont worry! ;)

Don't really know about hardmodding myself, but I do think I have a video somewhere about it. Have you tried the asus strix xoc bios yet? If not, might want to give that one a shot too... https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/208990/208990

Okey I would NOT recommend that ASUS bios.. I tried it and it sent me into hell!  .. Dead card black screen! :(   ...

However.. I had to take my sons pc apart, borrow his 2060 RTX and put into my pc and then reanimate my own card with another BIOS hehe.. Quite some work also with power cables and mine is not easily taken apart.. BUT I was able to flash with both cards in, and got the 2000W Galax bios on again which I have to say is the best of them all in my case! It does give the 1.125v and loads of power limit headroom ..

So I defiantly DONT RECOMMEND that bios for at least Founders Edit.

Nothing special. Just wondering if it would allow 1.2v via curve edit.

Yes I actually stubbled across that one you linked yesterday but never tried due to it looked outdated. But now I have tried and its not compatible with the 2080 class/series.. But definatly worth a try! I just made some adjustments to my cooling lowering it more than 10g celcius due to incorrect fan flow etc.. so im definatly up for the 1.2v challenge haha! ;)  if its ever gonna be possible.. its cooler than ever only in the 40s under full load OC . .never been that cool so its great... there are some sound/air flow restrictions in the case im gonna dremel out now as we speak..  :-p

Extra hardware present on KPE card will not magically grow itself out on PCB, when you flash BIOS.
But card can get borked quite easily, there are some threads around of people with dead reference/other vendor cards from KPE BIOS :)

Re: Kingpin RTX classified controller settings 2020/02/21 10:07:34 (permalink)
Hello and thanks for reply. No you are right about the reason why I cant control voltage is I dont have these magical digital voltage controllers the KPE has. BUT that said I really dont see how it is possible to brick the card with KPE bios as voltage is blocked. It is no different that other bios for me .. I am not afraid of using it at least. IF voltage was unlocked I could see how ppl could burn their cards or blow them or what u call it.. BUT I cant see how its possible at this point.. I have flashed a few times a bios that result in black screen and non working card (ex. Asus 1000w STRIX). It can be fixed though with two gfx in the pc and a reflash with a working bios.

I am however a little sad it has not been able to unlock 1.2v as with my 1080 GTX.  ;)  Its a quest I will continue to pursue if it will ever be possible haha! :D

Re: Kingpin RTX classified controller settings 2020/02/21 22:29:54 (permalink)
Some user had and issue on non-KPE card, after he flashed KPE BIOS, it worked, but once he wanted to revert it back - it got locked out during flashing and BIOS got corrupt. He could not reflash card to anything else, no matter what he tried. He ended up shipping card to me, I replaced BIOS chip and reprogrammed it via hardware, then card restored to functional state. KPE BIOSes have some stuff that configures hardware onboard. If it's flashed to wrong card, it could cause conflict and configure hardware into wrong settings, without option to revert back to default/factory state. So in general I will always recommend to use compatible BIOSes, and not willy nilly flashing whatever binary you may find in the internet. YMMV.

And no matter what BIOS you use , you CANNOT unlock any voltage, there are dozen of limitations from NV drivers and settings to prevent exactly that. Whatever additional voltages possible otherwise - it is means by either hardware stuff (voltmods, special trickery, unofficial rogue hacks) or simply incorrect reporting/monitoring. And going past 1.2V on anything but subzero cooling would often cause you LOWER performance (not clock MHz, these can go higher, but what's the point if your performance does not improve?), because you hit those power limits/thermal limits earlier.

If you have question, please post in public forum. I do not reply PMs, so all in community can benefit the answer.
