The specs are identical (I checked). They look the same. But one is $170 pricier (and "limit 2 per household"). There must be something better about it, but I don't see it.

Both offer the same performance. The difference is in the components that are used on the pcb itself. When evga creates another part # for the same gpu that has identical specs it means the components on the pcb have changed. 2280 is the older card with 2380 being the newer one.

WHat's funny is when you do a 'COMPARE' -- the only difference noted is that 1 says it is VR ready & the other says no. Features VR Ready No Yes

I couldn't find a vbios dump for the 2380 card, so we can't actually tell if it's using an a chip, or if evga just changed other components on the pcb itself.

Interesting and confusing. LOL! Always thought the blacks were for non-A chips. Common EVGA, get your stuff together!

Right. Originally it was only a Black Edition blower GPU. I guess there are others in the mix now that I didn't know about, hense the confusion.

Eh, this card is cheaper, has the a-chip and better cooler: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-2282-KR The blower is really loud if you run it fast enough to keep the card under 70C and still pretty loud at 80C. Either that card or a 2080S FTW3 for major cost savings.

The blower WILL be loud. lol Now the question is, if you love them enough to deal with them.
