Hello,

I'm writing to ask for advice regarding the right extension cord for my evga 750w platinum. I recently upgraded my desk and had every thing rearranged, the problem was my psu power cable is now too short to reach the outlet. I went ahead online and saw a whole bunch of ac power extension cord but im not sure which one will be the right one, but made some list base on reviews and question answered by customers. So far I have this two.

BTW: I would be plugging the ac extension cord to my power surge protector.

See: What is the rating for my PSU wall cable? in the EVGA FAQs.

750W (and lower) EVGA units use a cable with 18 AWG wires inside it..The lower the AWG number, the bigger the wire size, so you wouldn't want to get a cable with a higher AWG number.

Either one of the cables in your links will be fine as far as AWG wire size goes.

The 1800mm cable calculates to 6ft (don't know why EVGA just don't put the length in feet).

I ended up with this one: 16AWG = 13A. (750w/120=6.25) This should give me another extra 6 amp for headroom to prevent it from overheating or something.

As Bob mentioned you can always use a heavier cord - "lower AWG number (gauge) = larger wire"
