Hello there,
i ordered my EVGA Nu Audio Pro 7.1 and removed the the Cooling Backplate and the shroud. Then i swapped the Op Amp and installed Burson V6 Vivid but i cant mount the backplate or shroud so is there danger of burning? Because the Backplate had some thermal pads. How i can attache the backplate? the backplate can only be installed with the shroud due to screw threads. Can anybody help?
thanks

I'm about to do the same upgrade. I'm thinking of getting heat sinks and putting them on the chips.

    Hi!
I think you would be best served by contacting EVGA directly with your question. Once you have registered your card, you can ask a question about it (opening a ticket) here

Sorry for the late reply.  Although the shroud does bleed off a bit of extra heat, the audio card will still dissipate enough heat through its heatsink to keep it safe.  The temperature tolerances on the components are much higher than you need to worry about in the system.  If you're still worried about the temps, you can always direct a little airflow in its direction.

Take precise measurements of the V6 dimensions and cut/dremel the shape into the heat shield and then insert the V6 through the hole.

    Very simple job.

I have been using two Burson Classics V6 for about a year now and have had no issues with heat or the card in general. Everything will be alright.

Why do all that when you can just leave the back shroud off when you swap the op amps. Burson also sells flexable extension connectors.
