2080ti FTW3 Hybrid Fan custom curve problem

Hi,
I got yesterday my 2080ti FTW3 hybrid and have a problem with the custom curves in X1 Precision:
when using custom fan curves with Precision X1, the fan act erratically: it keeps going 0rpm->1200rpm->0rpm->1200rpm and so on, even if i have set 75% speed above 60°, it keeps doing that, meaning the temps goes higher and higher
 
 
When using full auto mode (no custom curve), the fan works, but goes to 100% at 50° with so much noise that my tower is a plane taking off...

    Yeah, I had same behavior: every time X1 updates fan speed - it actually turn its off and then it starts to spin up again.
    So if you set fan update period to 100ms - actually your fan will be stopped forever :)
     
    I submited this behavior to evga support and at the same time I switched to control fans via motherboard because I want to control pump speed too and it can't be done wia gpu and pwm control.

    Just to test, i swaped the EVGA Fan with a Corsair RGB Fan, also PWM, and have the EXACT same problem, meaning it's either the software X1 which is buggy, or the actual PWM controller on the card itself which is badly designed.
    Put a 5000ms "fan speed update period".
    Set a fixed 75% speed beginning at 20° so that it's supposed to ALWAYS keeps it at 75%
     
    Expected result:
    The fan keep a constant speed during 5second, then get adjusted depending on the actual temp. Then keep this new constant speed for 5seconds. Then adjust.... etc.
    With a set 75% speed, the fan should always keep the same speed.
     
    Actual result:
    The fan try to reach 75% a fractional second (10ms or so), then the minimum (which seems to be the 40% speed) during 5seconds, then speed up during 10ms, then the minimum during 5sec.... etc
    The fan actually never even reach 75% speed, and only goes from 450->800 a fractionnal second before going back to 450 during next 5s.
     
    Ridiculous.
     
     Warning: i'm talking about the fan attached to the rad, not the fan of the card itself which behave correctly.

    Try Afterburner, it should control both fans at once as a percentage.  Observe their speed via HWiNFO64.

    Afterburner cant control rad fans because they are actually "fan3". So it controls only VRM fan.
    I don't think that problem in pmw controller because gpu can control fans very well, it just do it very aggressive.
    But because of noisy pump I decided to control both pump and fans via mb (because if you connect pump to mb - you can't control rad fans via gpu, there is single connector for both pump power (DC controlled) and rad fan power (PWM controlled)). So I avoided that bug by solving "noisy pump bug" :)
     
    If you want "fan at 75%" test done well - set update interval at least 30s or more for this test, because it is actually takes about 30 seconds to spin up from 0% to 100% for rad fans for some reasons.
    I had this video sent to evga support, here you can see rpm and hear fan with mic inside case.

    UPD kind of "easy fix" - don't use fan curve and use constant rpm mode.

    My 2080 Ti XC Gaming with Hybrid kit added worked with Afterburner, it controlled both the VRM and Rad fans (dual via splitter) as a percentage, reporting both RPM to HWiNFO64 under the GPU section. 
     
    I'm currently running the rad fans off the MB, HWiNFO64 reports the VRM fan as GPU Fan0 and the Rad fan as GPU Fan1 (0 rpm).
     
    I take it the difference is because of the FTW3 fan control scheme on the custom card vs. the reference card.  You're saying you tried it and it definitely didn't work?  Too bad. 
     
    Is it possible to change which header on the FTW3 the rad fan runs off and get better control?

    I don't know if it is possible, but there is only 1 header to check:

     
    But if you ended up opening your card - well, it is possibly that you don't like pump noise too, so you could just do this:

    I have the exact same issue, will I have to run a fix speed or plug the fan in the mobo to workaround a fix? Did Evga rep reply to you?
