hello just bought a closed-loop cooler from EVGA it works great my CPU temps are at 24 degrees Celcius. my old corsair model was I think was on the way old CPU was at 40 sometimes 50 c. but the problem is the flow control software. so I have an EVGA z170 motherboard with no USB 2.0 support. just in the back and no USB headers. si i had to rig something up it worked with the corsair software but not with the EVGA software. so my question is do i have to something in the bios to get this to work or what? this is the error message i get.

Make sure to get the latest version of Flow Control here. Roll through some of the fixes/workarounds found in this thread..Be sure to close all other running software/programs in the Task Bar and System Tray (Clock area) before installing Flow Control. See also: EVGA CLC Flow Control software disconnects from USB or shows "No USB Device Found" in the EVGA FAQs here. Good luck with it.

you see there is no native USB 2.0 support with z170 motherboard only USB 3.0 and I need my front USB to plug in my x box controller to play fighting games. the stuff i ordered will be in on Monday if it works I will have control over the clc.

There is only one internal 2.0 Usb connection the z170 Classified K have a look at the manual page page 11 and 12, and if the op is using that for the front usb connection then its tied up

I have the FTW board that board only has USB 3.0 header internally for the front panel and I use that for my controllers and flash drives. everything else is external USB 2.0 is on the back. I had something rigged but it stopped working so that card will give me extra USB 3.0 support which I can convert to 2.0 and it will work hopefully.

 as you can see from this old pic I took when I first built the computer. I have snaking around from behind the motherboard that had a nzxt hub in the back and that worked for the corsair but I can't get it to work for the evga. edit by Cool GTX fix photo

Also it's worth pointing out that you will want to make sure all the windows updates are fully updated and you have the latest windows service pack installed. Windows updates have caused problems with flow control in the past but EVGA has fixed the software or a new Windows update has fixed the problems of previous updates.

guess what that little card works so I can have support for more USBs on my pc if I want. I did not need the drivers I should have done this years ago.
