I'm not sure if my card is defective. I've had the NU Audio (*non pro) soundcard for a month and am frustrated with horrible distortion when I use the Windows volume control or the NU Audio GUI volume settings. At 100% volume on both the audio is fine but it's super annoying to have to use my External amps volume control and not the PC/Soundcard. If I lower the volume on either Windows volume control or the NU Audio Volume it gains volume and distorts horribly.
I have disconnected my onboard Audio and have the NU Audio soundcard as the primary interface. I've not connected the front headers, its not required. I thought maybe it was because I was using the top PCI slot closer to the CPU but have since moved this to the lower slot underneath my GPU. Still bad distortion. I am using the RCA output adaptor on the Souncard which I then have a 3.5m jack going to RCA input on my external AMP.
I also notice odd spikes/latency when I'm scrolling through some websites using Firefox eg. Facebook and Soundcloud. Very odd. I've never had any problems with my onboard soundcard so this is very frustrating since I paid a lot of money for this new Soundcard.
From what I have been reading on this forum is that there a lots of issues with these cards and am looking forward to hearing a solution quickly as I do not find myself a happy customer right now.
Also to note.
