I have MSI x99 SLI plus board. I'm thinking it's dead but is it really... all the components removed from this to another x99 board work. When powering it, the psu fan spins for a bit and stops and keeps rebooting but no post. There are some LEDs on the board but CPU fan doesn't spin. I was able to get in the bios once. Reset bios didn't do any good. Tried different gpu on different slots, Ram on different slots. Tried switching bios too. What else could I try before tossing this board? Thanks

    Buy a new board.
MSI suck for support like Gigabyte, Ausus ect.
That's why I buy EVGA motherboards.
Why are you asking for support on a EVGA forum and not MSI?

I had a case power or reset (I forget which, been a while) button go bad on me once and it got stuck in a reboot loop..Try disconnecting those..Other than that it sounds like you've covered all the bases and the board went bad.

Because everybody that's anybody knows that the EVGA forums are the best and are not limited exclusively to EVGA products/customers.

That's the first thing that crossed my mind.  Change the CMOS battery as I'm sure it has some age to it.

I replaced the battery.... still nothing... I put in the little speaker (tested it on another board and the speaker worked)... remove RAM, and video. Tried to boot up. No beeps of any kind.  I can see a couple of LED lights and the PSU fan is spinning.  It would probably be fun to replace the bios.  I think it's soldered.  I will exam the board closely in the next few days and see if I could find anything might be burnt.
