Hello,
Just installed the NU Audio Pro 7.1 (without the extra surround sound card) on the Z390 Dark (last slot on the board). Slot 3 (1x) is disabled due to the NVMe M.2 SSD installed (I guess(?)). Current configuration makes the GPU slot 8x instead of 16x (that a problem?). Is slot 2 for the surround sound card (which would block almost 2 fans) the only option?
Slot 1: GPU
Slot 2: to close / blocks fans
Slot 3: disabled
Slot 4: NU Audio Pro
What would be the best solution?

If this is on the Z390 DARK, move the M.2 SSD to the top M.2 slot; PM1 shares lanes with U.2, which it doesn't look like you're using.  That will free up PCIe slot 3 to be used.

As always thanks for super fast replies/support.

Yes, on the Z390 Dark using the top PM1 port:

No U.2 ports are used. PE3 is disabled (grayed out in BIOS).

Make sure PM2 is disabled in the BIOS.

That solved the problem, thanks LeeM! Now using PE3 for Pro card and PE4 for the Surround Sound card.

I also have a z390 Dark, but I'm using a watercooled FTW3 2080 ti so spacing isn't an issue for me. Curious though, what speakers are you gonna use for the surround expansion card? If I ever got a Nuaudio +surround, I was thinking of pairing it with a Logitech Z906 5.1 Surround Sound system.

Does the water cooler make it a 1 or 2 slot? I've noticed the NU Audio Pro gets a bit hot but I have no space for a fan/cooling above/below it. Is heat a problem for sound cards?

Only using it with headphones because I had no intention to go surround. But went with the Surround Card so I wouldn't have to buy it separately later. If you get the Surround+ Z906 5.1 I'd be happy to hear/read your experience with it!
