Hi Everyone, here's the latest driver for the NU Audio Card.  This fixes issues people reported with several VOIP programs and offers optional installation of the Nahimic Software.
Release Notes (v0.2.1.7):
  • Updates Nahimic software to v1.0.3 (Fixes user-reported issues with programs, such as TeamSpeak and Discord)
  • Allows optional installation of Nahimic software*
*Note - If users choose not to install the Nahimic software, features including virtual surround, compressor, volume stabilizer, noise reduction and EQ options will not be available.

Let us know what you think, or if you run into any issues.  If you are using an older version of Windows and are running into one of these issues, please let me know and I will look into it.  However, please only request this if you are experiencing these issues.

    Hi Lee,

so the driver works, but Teamspeak is still a bit weird. So sound is clear, but sometimes louder and sometimes quiter. Sounds strange. Not sure, if that comes from the Nahimic or the driver or in my case the Firmwareupdate.
    Someone else got that?

Btw Lee when will the Pro Card availible in germany?

Test it out some more and let me know if you're still running into issues with it.  You can also reinstall without the Nahimic driver to test and rule out the Nahimic software if it persists.

I'll check on the status for Europe.

Working smoothly! Thank you Team EVGA!
And also thank you for making Nahimic installment optionable.
    Keep up the good work!

    Ok thats helps :)
Deactivate the Nahimic in the Services itself doesnt help. Complete re install without Nahimic was needed.

Ok it would be nice, when you have more informations about the Pro Card. The german EVGA store looks a bit dead

I tried to install 2.1.7 drivers and my system crashed with a blue screen concerning asmtxhci.sys.
After the reboot I startet the setup again and it ran properly and asked me to reboot again to finish the setup (like always).
Again, after rebooting my system crashes constantly on login screen with same blue screen. I had to remove Nu Audio software
packages in safe mode to get access to the system again. I then installed the old version 2.0.7 again, as this version still works
best for me. Had to run the setup twice, as the system crashed again with the same bluescreen. After second install run, everything
    seems to work normal again.
Nu Audio Firmware is V0.31, AMD Chipset drivers are V2.01.15.2138 from 16.01.2020.

I have the same AMD chipset drivers on an X470 Taichi board and I was able to install without any blue screen.  I did not attempt to install the Nahimic driver, because I have no need for it. I previously encountered a blue screen during installation with an older driver — I think it was 2.1.6.

I suspect the Nu Audio card is not as extensively tested on AMD platforms, which is a real shame. If I'm correct, hopefully EVGA are taking steps to rectify this.

Yes, it looks like AMD users are some kind of problem childs. But I couldn't leave it like that
and spent some more time digging deeper into it.

    It works.
Several Bluescreens and many "Audio init errors" later, my control panel works after login to windows.
What I did in my last steps was to clear everything up, disable security software, extract the
contents of the setup with 7-zip and run separately the extracted ASM-Setup, rebootet, startet
the extracted Nu Audio setup, rebootet and lastly ran the actual downloaded setup again (twice I think).

    Control panel works
    Teamspeak works

Mic has still to be set once to "listen to" in Windows sound control panel like on the the screenshot.

I'm having new problems with the new driver.  I'm only using a microphone when in Discord, so it may be only in that program (though I suppose I can test elsewhere), but occasionally the microphone is just "lost," as in, doesn't exist.  I have to enter the Nu Audio control panel and toggle back and forth between Auto / Front / Back for the mic location before it fixes itself.

I may have had to do that with the previous drivers once or twice, but it has happened three times today, already.

    hey guys!

im ashamed of asking this question, but would like to know the best way to update Nu Audio with the latest driver. Current version i am running is V 0.1.2.3, and the firmware is V 0.28

I want to make sure i do this correctly, because when I initially got this audio card it gave me a huge headache in the install and getting it to set correctly with my system.

i7 9700k and z390 taichi ultimate. I think the initial problems i experienced were related to bios update on my motherboard.

anybody have specific steps on how to make this as clean as possible? sure would be useful if the program itself had a update option in it... in a perfect world i suppose.

thanks, and I think the product is amazing. just dont want to lose my audio trying to update it when it works well in its current state. feel it needs to be updated though.

This driver still has the wake from sleep bugs.  When waking up, the card doesn't even show up as a device in the system and the system defaults to another sound option.  Only solution is to reboot the computer.

    I got this problem yesterday.
So I switch 24/96 to 16/44 and back to 24/96
    Its work to me.
    No reboot was necessary.

If you uninstall the drivers completely, reboot, and reinstall the drivers does it work properly?  What about if you install the drivers without the Nahimic SDK?

Tried, the results were the same.
Since I want to use the audio effect and equalizer function of Nahimic software, it has no meaning unless it is installed.

Fair enough, but it would help if we can continue to isolate whether the Nahimic software is still the culprit.

I'll spend some time this weekend testing the card with Discord using the latest drivers.

This audio effect corruption issue only occurs when using audio effects and quick settings, with or without Nahimic software.
    Normal if not used.
Also, the equalizer function works properly.

When you say with or without Nahimic software, do you mean when the audio effects are enabled or disabled in the NU Audio software, or do you mean whether the Nahimic SDK is installed or not?

After extensive testing of 2.1.7 drivers I have to admit that Teamspeak 3 is not fixed yet.
Sound output is quite strange, like people are talking with some kind of flanger effect(?) - (if this makes any sense, I don't know how to describe it)
while the volume varies audibly a bit. And when someone plays a music clip, the volume is constantly switching every two or so seconds
between nearly muted to normal level. For the time beeing, I revert back again to 2.0.7.

Eh, our engineering team calls it the Nahimic SDK and I try to simplify it to the Nahimic software for our forums.  Semantics.  I do have a download link to the SDK/software itself, but I believe it's the older version, unfortunately.

With regards to the volume changing, do you have any volume controls assigned to the mouse wheel or any other sort of wheel on the mouse or keyboard?

Can you guys try this updated driver from ASMedia to see if it helps?

We're wondering if LCaldas' issue is related to a specific platform or condition, so we're checking more into that.

Why do we install a USB driver for this audio card?  Also, I lost all use of my USB keyboard when I uninstalled all of the EVGA drivers / software (but, the keyboard came back when I unplugged it and plugged it back in).

Anyhow, I uninstalled the drivers, rebooted, and reinstalled without Nahimic.  We'll see what happens.

EDIT: Installing without Nahimic doesn't fix the problem.  Discord continues to lose the microphone until I toggle the Front/Back/Auto selector in the software.  It may also lose all spoken audio, too, but I'll have to perform more testing.
EDIT 2: Installed the different USB driver.  Will test and report back.

No, I don't have assigned any volume controls or similar to the mouse. Onboard sound is disabled. Music playback in Youtube, VLC, Windows is fine though.
Discord also works fine so far. Could this be an AMD related thing? Would be interesting to know if someone else is facing this Teamspeak 3 issue on an Intel Platform.

Did not test it as I like to keep surround sound for gaming, but makes sense because if you kill the EVGA Nahimic 64-bit process in task manager, Teamspeak 3 will work.

The audio card uses an ASMedia PCIe to USB bridge chip.  Normally, the default driver embedded in Windows is sufficient.

This driver still has the wake from sleep bugs.  When waking up, the card doesn't even show up as a device in the system and the system defaults to another sound option.  Only solution is to reboot the computer.

    LCaldas
    I got this problem yesterday.
So I switch 24/96 to 16/44 and back to 24/96
    Its work to me.
    No reboot was necessary.

Can you guys try this updated driver from ASMedia to see if it helps?

We're wondering if LCaldas' issue is related to a specific platform or condition, so we're checking more into that.

Since installing this USB update driver, I haven't had the wake from sleep problem, going on 3 days now... so maybe this fixed it, I'll report back if the sleep issue returns but so far so good.

Great to see Nahimic being optional... just upgraded from 2.1.6 (which was very stable for me) to 2.1.7 and no issues so far.
