PC was working flawlessly, installed a commander pro, still worked, added a GOXLR mini...worked fine until I rebooted.  Got a CMOS checksum.

I took out/re-installed the cmos battery and was able to get into BIOS but the system froze.  Was able to update my BIOS after that but upon reboot i got the same checksum error.

I picked up a new battery today and have yet to give it another shot but want to get out ahead of this in case it's a different issue.  Any help is appreciated!

See: My computer is showing a checksum error, what is this error related to? in the EVGA FAQs.

A checksum is a redundancy check during the startup process of the board, which makes sure that a bios' data is intact and unhampered. The data is scanned and tested for accuracy, either based on how well it relates to data elsewhere or based on previous data that was stored on the CMOS chip.

This will occur if you have just flashed the BIOS, removed the CMOS battery, or made a hardware change since last boot. If you have not flashed your BIOS, removed the battery, or added/removed a piece of hardware it may indicate a bad component or weak CMOS battery. You can clear the error by pressing F1. Next reboot the computer and see if the same error comes up. If it does enter the BIOS, load defaults, then hit F10 to save and exit.

That information is dated 2010/12/08 but still might apply to your board..Try the F1 thing and see if that clears it..That's all I have other than to Contact EVGA Customer Service about it..Good luck.

I tried clearing the error with F1.  It goes to the main motherboard logo screen with the spinning progress wheel and just stalls out.  Again, hopefully the new battery does the trick but my rig is less than a year old.  I'm not sure how long those batteries are supposed to last.

Update:  Hitting F10 from BIOS cleared the problem.  Everything works great.
