Intel is rumored to be producing their next-generation Xe graphics architecture based DG2 GPU on TSMC's 7nm process node. While Intel has already previewed their Xe Low Power 'DG1 GPU' & the Xe HPC 'Ponte Vecchio GPU', the only thing that's missing is the Xe High-Performance GPU or more commonly known to us as the DG2. Coming back to the rumor, AdoredTV reports that their sources have got information that Intel will be introducing their DG2 GPU in 2022 and would be based on the 7nm process node. What's more interesting is that AdoredTV mentions that Intel would be relying on TSMC's 7nm process node for the production of DG2 GPU and not their own in-house 7nm EUV technology. It is said that Intel will be covering up the losses and the hit backs they had to face with 10nm process with their 7nm tech however, this would only be relevant for CPUs, not GPUs. https://wccftech.com/intel-xe-dg2-gpu-tsmc-7nm-process-node-2022-launch-rumor/ -------------------------------------------------- LOL..... how sad Intel can't even produce it inside in their own fabs guess they need all of their fabs for CPU

Interesting rumor Good for Intel - 7nm will open some possibilities & looks to be shorter to market ... though 2022 seems far off Yes Intel will be production bound with just the CPU demands @ 7nm EUV

I did say that. They have all the mula to go 7mm and look at what we are reading🤣🤣🤣. AMD shook Intel pretty well now they are waking up🤣🤣.
T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. No, that's not what happened because it's quite obvious everyone's heading in that direction with or without AMD around.

Intel might make mistakes but they aren't stupid. They already ran into fab capacity problems with wireless modem chips and spun that off to Apple last year. Clearly they recognized the need to focus their in house manufacturing on their core products. Thankfully they haven't shipped all their manufacturing off to south east Asia.

I read the facts no assumptions like most here do🙄. I go and call it for what it is by actions not words. 2 big giants with so much mula and cant lead by example. The little guy like AMD had to do it for them.😼

So is AMD more like Danny Divito or Verne Troyer? Imagine thinking a publicly owned multinational company with 10,000+ employees subcontracting to the top commercial fab in the world was "the little guy".

Yes they are still are "the.little.guy" in the GPU market, do you read.much? Apparently you are showing the lack of awareness in GPU industry. If im not mistaken didnt Xavier and Nazca brag about Intel and Nvidia being the big dogs for.having a greater market share than AMD? Hence there is where the little guy name from AMD came from. Why dont you ask them that question?😼

What if this has nothing to do with graphics? Intel has in the past taken capacity from AMD just to keep them from keeping up with demand.

Interesting idea - that would be a bold strategic move .. except TSMC has expanded capacity at an impressive rate - I have no idea what the total capacity looks like or why Samsung did not get the work

Intel is one year older than AMD. It's a minor miracle that AMD is still in business and intermittently able to compete with Intel and Nvidia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Micro_Devices#History I'm sure AMD wouldn't appreciate being called "the little guy", they are a real company who has been around for 50 years. Point being, drop the "AMD the Underdog" meme - nobody cares.
