Hey all,

new to the forums but not to folding. Been folding for around 2 years. Last year I did some folding with an Asus Strix RTX 2060, EVGA 1050TI, Saphire Nitro RX580 all with no issues and full circle to EVGA RTX 2060 and  is not detecting my GPU when I try adding it. Kept saying -1 gpu no gpu slot detected. I was on the newest driver new 441.87 Jan 6 2020 then went back to the oldest possible and tried current 436.30, got the same errors. Tried uninstalling  client and removing all files with revo uninstaller, rebooted andclient installed 7.5.1 client again, same error. Is the GPU too new?

Screenshot below, can't get past this now

Do you see the GPU in the bios?
Does your operating system recognize it, and were you able to test if it works (3d acceleration/benchmarks work fine on them)?

If you do, it might just be an opencl driver install you need.
Most of the time, windows takes care of it, but occasionally you'll need to reinstall the opencl drivers on Linux.

Under Windows (Update) the Graphics Driver is not the best install. You do not install Separate OpenCL Drivers under Windows.
Under Windows the OpenCL is installed by the Driver Install and you do not install OpenCL as you might have to under other Operating Systems.
You should use DDU in Safe Mode to remove and clean up with the Network unplugged or turn off your Modem.
Then install the Driver that you have Downloaded from NVIDIA's Website.
Windows Driver updates are not at best usable 100% of the time and why we have to remove and clean them up from time to time.

Exit the Folding Client and then go into your Folding Data Folder and delete the file GPUs.txt \ProgramData\FAHClient
This will force a download of the current version when you start up the Folding Client.
Current 2060's listed

Thanks for all the quick and helpful replies! The steps from @  worked like a charm. Now folding with the GPU and CPU perfectly. I was installing the driver using Nvidia GeForce Experience. Tried the latest then manually installed an older driver from September 2019. But driver was never the issue.

Thanks again and happy folding
