So what is usually better, to leave your cpu ratio at 100 and set your memory to XMP or is it better to set your memory and cpu at lower settings and then raise your BCLK to get your desired frequencies, any opinions on this?

Leave the bclk at 100, and tweak the other settings to get your desired results.

bclk can increase benchmarks after the other normal adjustments are made ...... However remember your then OC the PCIe bus ... & GPU may become unstable

usually very small tweaks 101 --- 105 .... Some MB do this when you use their built-in OC feature ... even if they do not report it

I leave BCLK where it is and sync all cores in BIOS. You've already set AVX to 0 ?
    I set RAM to XMP
I then change voltage and frequency with Intel extreme and also change cache to 4.7 running between 5.4 to 5.6. Anything less I leave cache at 4.3

That's always worked for me .

Yes I've always had avx at 0, bclk at 100 and synced all cores as well but never done anything with CPU cache

    Try it
What do you have to lose ?
Bumps my OC up a bit at higher frequencies with a higer cache .
Open up Intel extreme , take your cache up .1 every time you bench and see your scores.
Fund out which cache works the best for you.

The only thing that has changed between these 2 runs is the cache from 4.3 to 4.7 .Frequency set at 5.5@1.435v
GPU set at base for both runs.
When you start playing with GPU clocks and voltages , it gets even better.
