Today is a sad day... I was cooking breakfast and after walking past my PC I noticed it had locked up. I reset it which lead to a reset loop. No post. I started swapping hardware around and testing various configurations and finally found that my Rev. 1.0 EVGA E757 SLI-LE has passed away. We've had such a wonderful life together. *Cries* You were so cute crawling around with your i7 920. I was proud of you when you upgraded to RAID 0 Raptors and started taking your first baby steps. You left me speachless the day you took off your training wheels and booted Windows 10 from your Samsung 950 PRO NVME. I couldn't have asked for more when you landed your first job and upgraded from 3x2GB 1600mhz to 3x8GB 2400mhz memory. I cried when you left for tech school and gave yourself a solder job so you could swap in a W3690 Xeon. You smiled so big when I gave you your post grad presents, a 1660Ti XC, a G3+ 850 PSU and a Meshify C case that had been long past due. You had become so refined. Every detail, down the WiFi AX card.. All the other PCs were envious, we both knew it. Let us all say our last goodbyes. Rest in peace my friend.

Although that sounds like an awesome idea... I think its just time to upgrade. I've been so happy with x58 I've been looking at SR-2 motherboards but didn't want to get a dud from ebay. The SR-3 looks insanely overpriced!

I also have a 790i motherboard. How do I test to see if something is wrong with it when the PC is failing. I am currently testing the drive and the memory and not finding errors.

That's likely one of the "chinesium" boards, aka pretty much garbage. Can't do most of the stuff (aka overclocking) that X58 needs to do to perform decently for any newer tasks.

Maybe but for the price I think it would be worth it if you want to stick with X58

Not really. AFAIK they're salvaged X58 or 5520, have horrible overall quality and VRMs, miss a ton of features in the BIOS. If you want to stick with X58, get an actual X58 board lol.
