My original problem was that my GPU (1080 ti sc2) was running idle at about 56c so i looked into the forums and found this post how to fix it   i followed the moderator, sajins tips and "#1 You're running multiple monitors. Fix: " fixed my gpu temp load exponentially 56>36c idle. Now i am experiencing screen tearing (during games and even just we browsing) which ive never gotten before and using the inspector and those settings are the only things ive changed.

Undo the "fix" and see if the screen tearing issues go away.

Pssst! Little secret: The NVIDIA Inspector hack isn't really a fix. NVIDIA chose to not downclock the card so low with multiple monitors for a reason. The "fix" can cause issues with stability and image corruption.

Ok? Well, 56c is a good temp in general, kinda sucks thats a idle/low workload temp but you have multi monitors running so its expected. If you go to run a game or something make sure you turn your gpu fans to 100% and a couple intake fans too or you will cook your card. The hotter you run it the lower its lifespan gets in a hurry. Electronics HATE heat, its about as bad as water hitting them. If youre using geforce experience get rid of it, that may help some.

Maybe see what your GPU Usage is at idle in EVGA Precision's HWM and adjust the Full 3D GPU Usage Threshold % in NVIDIA Inspector down to just slightly more than that instead of the recommended 30% so that it bangs up to full 3D clock speed as soon as it comes off of idle.

Adjusting the 3D GPU Usage Threshold % in NVIDIA Inspector has sometimes been known to cause problems like black-screening and other things when running multiple monitors.
