Hey gang,
After having some crazy issues with adaptive voltage for my 9900k discussed in
this thread, I have settled on an Override voltage for my CPU which has given me much more stability of my voltage. I have my current Vcore at 1.318 which is stable for me with -50% vdroop. In monitoring my vcore ( not vid) whilst stressing it gets up to around 1.364v while being stressed. I am running my rig at 5.2 Ghz on all cores, no AVX.
Now my question just to clarify in my mind. My Vcore that is being applied at idle desktop. I have my Windows 10 power plan set as balanced for normal desktop use. I was thinking an Override setting in bios might prevent the CPU core voltage from dropping under little load, but it would seem it still does - which is great. But is it really?
The above is from Eleet CPU tab , and as you can see it shows my current voltage while I am at desktop at 0.695v.
And the above is from the Monitoring tab of Eleet at the same idle desktop, which shows CPU Vcore is at 1.334v.
So that brings me to my dumb question - which is accurate? Is my core voltage actually dropping down at idle desktop or not? Based on core temps at idle I am thinking it is?
Much thanks for any clarification! I just like to know these things lol.
