Hello all
 
I was fortunate enough to pick up a 2080 ti XC Gaming and it arrived last night. Unfortunately, it's running a little warmer than I expected. Right now, it is idling at 46c on MSI Afterburner's default fan curve (approx. 48% speed), with ambient temps approx 74F. Under load, I am experiencing around 80c with fan speeds around 80%+. This is all at stock speeds. When I overclocked it, and ran Heaven, it eventually reached 89c (and caused my computer to freeze up). 
 
My case is an S340 Elite with a Kraken x62 on my CPU. The radiator fans are intake at the front of the case, while the top and back fan are both exhaust.

    You're starving the card for air.  Move the radiator to the top, even though you have to cut the case.

    Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately there's only room for one fan at the top of my case, so I think I need to look into getting a better case. That being, it still ran fairly warm when I run things without the side panel on.

    Cut the case.  Or bin the entire thing and buy a case that has proper air flow.

    Are you running Case & AIO fans @ 100% RPM ?

    Open glass side of your case, point fan at it .... how much does the Temp on card drop ?
     
    2-fan blowing - In & 2-fan blowing Out is NOT ideal cooling .... usually Possitive air pressure cools best ... More fans blow In than Out

    It's not just the warmer air from the radiator, it's that the radiator is a major flow restriction.  Even with push pull high pressure 2000rpm fans, you'll have less air flow than a free flowing generic fan at 1000 RPM.
     
    Oh yeah, I'm totally serious about cutting a hole in the case. It should be pretty easy to open up the top panel to take the 240mm radiator.

    Another option is to get a Kraken G12 GPU mount and use that as a cooler on the GPU, then get a good 120mm AIO for the cpu and mount it as a top intake with push pull fans, or a 140mm AIO, like the Kraken X42.  That should work really well.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I ran some benchmarks on Unigine Heaven without the panel on and with/without a fan blowing inside the case. Here's my findings:
    With fan/overclock/panel off: 77c
    With fan/no overclock/panel off: 67c
    Without fan/overclock/panel off: 85
    Without fan/no overclock/panel off: 75c
     
    So it looks like just removing the panel brings it down 5 degrees. I think maybe a Meshify C would work best, and have my CPU radiator at the top, exhausting the hot air.

    Switching coolers will not void your warranty, you can switch coolers, re apply thermal paste, take apart and clean and re assemble it, as long as the card can be put back into its original factory specs and build it can be rma'd and will stay in warranty until its actual warranty expires.

    Warranty will be fine and you should get exceptional cooling.  The 140mm AIO on the CPU should be fine unless you're running a huge overclock or HEDT etc.
