Any thoughts what memory topology does Z370 EVGA Classified K use? Daisy Chain or T-topology?
 
The question has arisen because I want to upgrade my RAM from 16 to 32 Gigs. I have 2x Kingston HyperX KHX3600C17D4/8GX at the moment.
I have two options:
 1 - to sell my set and buy a new one 2x16GB (Daisy Chain option);
 2 - to buy another 2x8 set of the same manufacturer and same specs (T-Topology option).
 
The 2nd one is more prefereable.

    Are you asking about Dual channel vs Quad channel ? ---> its Dual



     
    You Have a Z370 Classy K ---> or found one for sale ?

    It's definitely daisy chain.
     
    The board has a hard time trying to post (training) with RAM at 4100 MHz and above with a DIMM in the fourth slot i.e. the slot that is furthest from the CPU suffers the most latency and signal loss (attenuation).
     
    If it were T-Topology all RAM slots would be equal.

    Probably did good, as you have a better chance of overclocking 2 sticks.
     
    You can usually look at the traces on the back of the motherboard to see if they are daisy chain vs T-Topolgy. Daisy chains are simple to spot, all the traces run to the first slot and then over to the other, so technically the second slot has a longer trace which at very high speeds does cause instability.
    Here is a great video from Buildzoid showing T-topology which I am less familiar with. Basically longer traces but all the sticks have same length trace.

    This one is about EVGA Z390, not sure if there is much difference in RAM slot configuration
     
     
    Anyone tried 128Gb in Z370 motherboard? I7 8086k can handle that amount of RAM but there was a restriction of 64Gb RAM max on Z370 and Z390, following with bios updates for Z390 motherboards for 128Gb support.
