How do you like the V5i? Can you describe the change?

v5i vs factory amp - overall improvment, deeper bass, more details and way more musical
v6 is even better, but dont fit the case, so you must remove cover with rgb lights

Might have to look into some spacers to raise the cover for V6 clearance
I will have my NU next week, and hopefully have both a V6 Classic and Vivid for comparison by the end of the month

Try them either way - find what sounds / works best for you

Seems like too much work though to be swapping OP-Amps when going between music and games - unless you switched between the line out and headphone out

    It's all smoke and mirrors.

All this audiophile stuff is simply a method of adding filters and altering the original recording to suite your preferences.  Any purist should just leave it alone.  It's a perfect sound reproduction with the most basic $5 hardware already available.

Do the V6's actually fit with out dip 8 extensions on EVGA's Nu?

I have an old Xonar Essence STX and ordered Muses02, V5i and V6 Vivid, the V6s don't fit without extensions because of the CAPS next to the op amps, not sure if the STX 2 has a better layout to allow their use.

Currently using the Muses02 as the output opamps and one of the V5i's as the low pass filter.  My headphones aren't the best, Denon 2000s (been looking to upgrade, now that the BD T1's are ~$700...), but the configuration seems like a "mild" improvement.

If you are looking to order any of the Burson op amps get them directly from Burson.  Delivery does take a few weeks, but they are responsive when contacted.

I grew some balls and decided to just jam them in, CAPS be damned.  Who's afraid of a little soldering if something goes wrong?

Still interested if the V6's fit better on the Nu when you get them.  Plus the STX is getting dated... and the Nu has better gain control especially for higher impedance headphones.
