x299 dark and cpu coolers ( air cooler) compatibility. Help and suggestions

Hi. any suggestion about cpu air coolers for I9 7940x on a 299 dark Mobo ( no OC)
I`ve an evga cooler but in case of failure i`ll  comeback using an air cooler.
noctua nhd15 is not compatible ( we loose pci1 slot due dimensions)
other suggestions?
