Thanks for that update, might eventually have to do that myself if this WB won't work out since I want to skip next gen if possible lol and I don't trust AIOs to last 2y or a bit more.

AIO's are pretty solid, I still have an H90 I got 7 years ago that still works. Just installed a 2 year old refurbished H115i on my second PC. Had it sitting around and never used it...

I went through 5 AIO RMAs already (2 corsair and 3 nzxt), so far the one that lasted the longest is atm, one n half years. Most of them lasted half a year before pump started to misbehave/huge temp spikes at times. That aside, I did one last mount using similar amount of paste like first time (of the thick one) so quite a lot but not too much, and removed ALL but the memory pads (bracket removed as well) and it makes OK contact this time, its the best so far but I cannot use luquidy paste because it would still run out but thick paste should hold and be fine. This is not nice.... I have a feeling some parts are soldered a bit too high and possibly DIE has a small high spot.

You ever check that metal spacer around the die to see if it has a high spot? The shim.. If that is flat and same level as the die.. i would of already sanded down the standoffs to shorten them so the block would fit tighter to the card.

That's fair, I wouldn't trust an AIO with that experience either.

Some CPU block surface is not completely flat as well. I hear when guys asked about Heatkiller IV PRO and support explain them that surface is not perfectly flat. Thermal paste is used because of that. Before people polished and IHS and CPU cooler to mirror finish to help better heat dissipation. Perfect silent water-cooling pump not exist. PC pumps are silent compare to other water pumps. I never met completely silent AIO pump... always you could hear rrrrrrrrrrrr when you put ear 10-15cm from pumps. And I imagine that noise as normal. No matter on brands, Asetek or CooliT you hear them. D5 is most silent pump and even she is loud on 80-100% you obviously hear pump if you stay near open side panel.

I never hear my D5 pumps. Silent after your done bleeding the system of air bubbles. Always at 100%.
That's for the Ek pump/rez combo.. maybe their rubber padding around the pump to the housing helps with vibrations.
Last build has 2x dual pump head tops. So 4 pumps at 100% and I dont hear them. Open case design.

I believe we both have the same EK dual D5 PWM pump system. Mine's completely silent @ 90% for 1.0/1.1 GPM. They are designed and build with very low audibles in mind. It feels like one big shock absorber. lol The pump housing, brackets, etc. all have some type of rubber washer or material used to lessen any rattle noise. It's built really nice actually. My only caveat is the price as I feel it's a bit too high. The small res costs a fortune.

Yup that's the one. I dont mind the price too much as I'll get many years of use out of them. Rather spend more on quality then trying to budget and get something cheap and have it brake.

When I first joined custom H20 back in 2010, I almost watercooled my x2 GTX 480 in SLI (Hot sizzling Fermis) with universal blocks. lol That's what people used to use back in the day and they still have a purpose in this day imo. They sure perform well because of the less restriction of flow in them then the full cover blocks have thats for sure.

Seems like bykski came out with a WB for kingpin and I can kinda get my hands on it easily... If EVGAs own WB doesn't work out then I will try that out.
Oh and EVGA told me to send them my kingpin and WB so they can attempt to make it work and I will keep my warranty on both the card and WB (they said its ridiculous that it still doesn't work, so they are willing to give it a go so I can keep my warranty if WB needs sanding etc.). So going to send it to them soon (in next couple of days).

Yeah but it would be a shame not to be able to use your OLED screen. Thats one of the big differences and makes the 2080ti kingpin distinquishable. Without that its just another 2080ti with a waterblock.

Yep thats true about the OLED but I rather have a full WB than the oled for my daily use really (for reasons) but I hope EVGA RMA team does its magic and gets the WB to sit properly on the card and tells me how they did it so I can do it when I eventually repaste the GPU with TFX myself. KP HC is much, much better looking than that bykski block too not to mention EVGA has the oled etc.
