Hello friends! Today I decided to dust off my station and, since its almost Christmas, I will tell my love affair with EVGA. I've always into computers since i was a kid, but it took me a long time to set up a setup that I was really proud of. Im a old guy, 40 and some, came from the IBM-XT times and i been a computer player since that time. Here in Brazil, my country, and sorry about my dumb english, due to high taxes and protectionist laws, electronics is more expensive and difficult to buy. Just a example we have the most expensive iphone in the entire world. Nowadays it's easier just that it's still very expensive. Well, in 2010 I was able to import my first motherboard and gpu set from EVGA. A x58 SLI-LE with one GTX-470. I was already a father of a 3 year old girl, had a few years of marriage and a lot of bills to pay, but with a few months and a lot of effort I managed to put together and buy the rest of the hardware (a i7-920, HDD, PSU and 6GB Ram in 3channel) Finally My first PC that would make me so proud was ready.
In April 2020, right at the launch of Cyberpunk2077, a game that I'm super hyped to play, this setup would be 10 years old. In fact, it would not, it will, because as incredible as it sounds, its still my main work&play machine. My daughter, now with almost 12, has fun playing Minecraft and The Sims, as well as doing her schoolwork. I use for video and photo editing, email, remote access to my clients, excel well everything that generates work and income comes from this same PC. Every moment playing Diablo, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Dark Souls, The Witcher (which I'm in love with) Pillars of Eternity, Skyrim and so many others that made my life a little better. And if that wasn't enough, and i dont have Xbox or os (cmon im a PC gamer) i use my PC on the living room TV for games, Netflix, music and everything. The only thing I've done in all these years, besides dusting and replacing the thermal compound was, a couple of years ago, istall a SSD, 4gb RAM more and exchange my faithful but already lagged GTX-470 for a GTX-960 that I could buy renew, of course I made sure it was from EVGA too. Even my new mouse, an X5, I was able to buy on a Black Friday.
As you can see, I don't use that old case anymore lol. Why didn't I switch this old computer in 2019, almost 2020? Because living in Brazil is not easy. Its hardcore level. Its difficult to raise a child, pay a rent, support a house, wife and dog, and still have money left over. But the strongest reason is that even old, EVGA still serves me even after 10 years. My PC still turns on and still does everything I need. To this day, it still stays online for over 12 hours straight every single day. He still resists and continues on my side!
2020 will be a new year. I have a proposal for something better in another city. If all goes well I will be able to raise money during the year to order on Black Friday, with someone coming from the USA a Z390 series motherboard with an RTX2070 to be able to not only improve my work but enjoy the new generation games. And surely the new PC will be from EVGA because God only knows when im going to get the chance again. Only in EVGA I trust.
Anyway, this whole story is my way of thanking EVGA for the quality of its products, which has enabled 10 years of joy.
Honestly, EVGA, i love you!! Thank you very much!!!! PS: I try put some pic here but fail so i attach...sorry!!!
