AnsweredGTX 1070 Port Priority on HDMI

I've got a couple of 1070's in SLI on my system. I tried connecting both my monitor and tv to the main gpu to play some games in bed. The tv is connected through hdmi since I happened to have a 25ft hdmi cable just lying around and it was perfect for that. Now for the monitor, it only has a vga and a hdmi port so I tried using a displayport to hdmi cable and the image showed on the tv first so i googled and found that there's a priority order for the ports (someone said it was dvi, hdmi, then displayport). So I got a dvi to hdmi cable today and the tv still boots first. The monitor has no image until it boots to windows. This normally wouldn't bother me, but I've got a dual boot hackintosh system and I need the image on my monitor to choose whether to boot into mac or windows when I turn on my pc. Would there be any way to change this or what is the true order so I can buy the cables actually needed? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    I just bought a 25 foot displayport to hdmi cable. I connected both the monitor and tv to the gpu in the order shown in the picture and it still didn't work. That was until I unplugged the tv cable, turned the pc on then off, plugged the tv back in, and finally it worked. I have no idea why unplugging the tv from the gpu would make a difference but it works now. I'm just not gonna touch anything anymore. Thank you!

    Update: I tried HDMI to the monitor and Displayport to the tv and it worked as well by doing what I had said before (unplugging the tv and plugging it back in). I guess doing this allows a reset, the priority port takes its place since the tv port was using it up??? I really have no idea what it is but it's working now I'll just keep this setup since the hdmi cable had already came with my monitor and I'll return the other two cables I bought. Thanks everybody for the help!
