Hi, been using a evga 1080ti ftw3 card for about a year now. Just wanting to know if my idle temps are okay im currently at 43 degrees idle with a gpu clock speed of 1480mhz and a memory clock of 5508. I wanted to underclock my gpy to lower the clock speeds using Nvida inspector that work but caused stuttering issues. Wondering if all my clock speeds at idle are good along with the gpu temps ?

What is your Monitor refresh rate & display resolution ? Room Temps ? 43 C is fine

i have three monitors
1440p 165hz
60hz monitors x2
So there is nothing to worry about. Note when unplugging the 165hz monitor the clock speed goes down
Room temps at the time of screenshot are 25 c
Is there any way i can reduce the core clock and memory clock or this normal and nothing to worry about ?

Set that 165 MHz monitor to 120 MHz or less
With Precision X1 or other OC software:
- Set a (- Number) in the GPU or RAM to force lower clocks
- lower the Target Power below 100%

setting a lower refresh rate does nothing. I can lower the clock speed to 1278 from 1480 is there any way or lowering anymore? Or should I not bother and let my clock speed idle at those clock speeds, just wondering if this normal and nothing that will effective the life of my gpu

Doing everything you said, setting the monitor to 120hz and changing the number to -mhz of gpu clock offset my gpu clock speed has lowered to 746mhz and memory has changed to 810mhz this seems to have fixed it. Only problem i dont want my monitor to be 120hz or is this the only way to lower the clock speed in idle. Is there any other easier way of underclocking gpu for idle use ?

746/810 still isn't as low as it should be. Better yes, but still not where it should be + you'll have to mess with the clocks and power target everytime you want to do something other than idle. I'd just leave it running normally unless you're trying to save power, and don't mind adjusting the setings each time you want to do something other than idle.

Thanks for the help guys just going to leave the clock speed where it is even idle because it was giving me other issues such as screen tearing when the clock speed drops all of a sudden from 1569mhz to 746mhz. The only other benefits were a few degrees cooler but caused more issues when underclocking.

if you are running 3 monitors, you need to install nvidia inspector and activate multi gpu power saver. that will get your clocks to drop to under 300. look for you tube videos on power saver setup.

If you have the same monitor configuration, nothing has changed since you last posted. An option someone mentioned earlier of setting the desktop to 120hz can help. You can still run games at a higher refresh rate.

are you using "Steam" for gaming ? if you are go into your task manager and scroll down and see if the "Steam Bootstrapper" process is running. if it is end that process and see if your clock speeds dont return to idle. if thats not it some other process might be causing the issue.
