I was gaming this morning and noticed a chirping/squeaking noise from the back of my pc. I opened the back to check more into it and the noise is isolated to the psu. Has anyone else had this issue? Wanna check before I rma this unit. Did a restart and it comes and goes as it please with the noise.

Thanks in advance.

Do you think it is the fan or some sort of "alarm" ?

I'm going to say fan from what I have heard with putting my ear to it, its currently not doing it as of now. I would hate to rma it and they not be able to have it do it for them then we are at a stand still cause its not doing it for the techs

Non conductive item - like a wooden or plastic dowel - held against the "point of interest" & against your ear can help you hear

change the ECO switch position - to stop / start fan

run a benchmark to load system consistently

Will run the benchmark now and change the eco switch at the same time, the case is a tower 900, the fans for the rads are facing out not even in the chamber if that makes sense to you with the psu, it has started the noise again so lets see what it does with the test.

Your PSU has a "Double Ball Bearing fan for exceptional reliability and quiet operation" and an "Unbeatable EVGA 10 Year Warranty and unparalleled EVGA Customer Support"

With your PC turned off, use something to stick through the fan grill to push on the fan hub a few times to reseat the bearings..If that don't fix it or if the noise returns later, RMA it.

Chirping can be a sign that a capacitor is failing in the PSU. If you can, try to get a recording of the noise and e-mail it to support@evga.com so we can listen and advise further on if it sounds abnormal or not.

I cant get my phone to pick it up. I do have 4-120mm fans and 4-140mm fans on each rad in the back, could be why the phone wont pick it up but i can hear it fine. Its not currently doing it as it comes and goes

aaaahh yes, the infamous chirp. If only there was chirp mode just like the eco mode, where you can turn it off and on.

Yea, Not even a year old since I got it. Once I order my new psu I will be sending this thing in for rma, this will be my first time having to use the service and hopefully the last.

It never ever hurts to have a spare PSU laying around..And I know it can be a PITA sometimes to swap out all the cables for those who have painstakingly routed them, but don't use cables from another unit unless you're absolutely, positively sure they are interchangeable (many are, many aren't).

When sending the unit in for RMA, you don't send the cables, cords or anything, just the bare-bones PSU.

Situation will be better when production back in USA and Europe.
China will faced with rage, Hong Kong demonstrators will travel in Peking to beat the of Xi Jinping.
Our dictator was so happy with visit of China president and 15 minutes explain to excited citizens how Chinese president hug him
and emotions on his face during visit... He thought that Chinese president no one hug like him. Can you believe...
Damn, sick people walk on earth.

Seasonic 850 watt or maybe even the 1000 watt platinum or the titianum version. I understand their rma policy but having to pay to send it and be without a pc for something less then a year old is not okay in my book. But none the less it is what it is and I will make adjustments.

Copy that, its almost the same cost as doing a cross ship rma for the evga evga 1300 watt and I'm not doing that. So once the new psu gets here and I get the new mobo and cpu installed I will just send the evga one to them to rma.
