I just upgraded from a 1050 ti to a 1080 and ive been experiencing lower frames than i was with the other card. I generally get 40 fps on the main game with the 1080. I used DDU did what i know of and still nothing. My build is a i5 7600k, gtx 1080, 16gb (2400) corsair ram, asrock h110m-dgs motherboard, evga 450 watt 80+ bronze psu ( i know i need to get like a 550). Any help would be nice

Check your video settings in the game? the game might of chosen bad defaults. have you tried more then one game? Are you running the same resolution? what gtx 1080 do you have? Are you running precision x? allows you to see gpu speed,temps,power i suggest trying an older driver the latest driver was horrible, i had to rollback mine because of horrible fps if Nvidia geforce experience installed with gpu driver (uninstall) it is horrible at optimizing games in my experience Here's one of my favorite resources https://forums.evga.com/B...mode-etc-m2504606.aspx

What specific 1080 ?
Yes - your 450 W PSU is not enough power
Requirements ---> Minimum of a 500 Watt power supply
What Other Games or Benchmarks have you tested with ?
Online game ? what browser
CPU temp ?, room temp ?, GPU temp ?
OS details ?
Nvidia Driver ?
What settings have you changed in Nvidia Control Panel ?

Im running the same settings in game that i ran with my 1050 it the overall best settings that i like for pvp. Ive tried multiple games i have 8k hours in rust so thats my main game i play but i have tested insurgency sandstorm and still lower than what it should be. I have a 2560x1600 monitor and it runs my game at that res but i keep my display settings at 1920 x 1080, dont like the way 2560x1600 looks. I dont use geforce experience for optimization of my games but i do have it installed for other reasons. I uninstalled precision x from when i put this graphics card in but i normally keep a task manager open on performance and have my steam overlay for fps.

try running GPUZ and use the sensors to see if its temperature or power is throttling you. Your power supply could be the problem everything states 500 watts power supply for the GTX 1080. I am assuming this was a used GPU, your kinda of spinning in the wind without proper size power supply. Its kinda of the first step to finding out if your GPU works as designed the links everyone has posted here for you really might be worth taking a few minutes to review

Theres the info about the 1080 but yeah i got it used from a friend of mine for a steal, just some handy work around the house and i got the card

i just got this cpu this last yeah how can it be a bottleneck, and i just got 16gb of ram as well

temps .... Your cooler or TIM seem to be "not effective" Or your Killing it with Voltage / OC & Load Maybe you bumped the cooler while changing the GPU ? Intel ---> T JUNCTION 100°C

Best to start with the Newest .... Look on the boards for that Game & see what others like .... otherwise its install and test Set Nvidia Control panel to "Performance"

my cpu seems fine now the clean boot things didnt work resettings with ddu didnt work either

What are the Temps Now while gaming ?

ah rollback and doing that cpu fan fixed it getting 130 fps in rust i appreciate the help:)
