Famed chip detective @KOMACHI_ENSAKA discovered that AMD has posted a new Product Master list to its website that outlines current and potential future products. As per normal, entries to this list may or may not make it to market, but it seemingly provides some very intriguing information about AMD's Ryzen Threadripper 3000-series (codename Castle Peak) processors.

AMD lists an unidentified Ryzen Threadripper with 32 cores and a 280W TDP (thermal design power). The Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX, AMD's previous flagship, is rated for 250W. That's a 30W (12%) difference and hints that the new third-generation Ryzen Threadripper chips will probably be limited to 32 cores, which is the same as the prior-gen chips. There also isn't a listing for the rumored 64-core Threadripper.

I am looking forward to next month with the release of the 3rd gen Threadripper as I intend to buy one and a new motherboard.

Wow, that's a lot of cores and TDP.  Wondering what their SKU for their HEDT platform will be like and price range.  This might make my future Intel upgrade very difficult.

Release is in November so that is a short time away. I hope we'll see more details from AMD as the release date approaches.

Do we know if there are specific dates for both Intel and AMD?

Always find socket changes a bit suspect. If they go new socket, what new features is that socket change bringing to this generation of threadripper? One would like to think manufacturers would be forward thinking with their socket choices, but fascinatingly, most are not. With how chip design works, one would think they'd know what their chips will need for socket i/o 4-6 years down the road and just use that socket now.

Which PSU will you run with it? I'm just curious. Personally I don't need that kind of CPU power.
