People say the clicking is normal, but others have had it fixed by getting a replacement card.

I didn't say to rma. I said some had their clicking issues fixed by a replacement card. Creating a custom fan curve that doesn't allow the fans to spin down at idle will workaround the issue.

In case you have both versions installed, uninstall Standalone Precision X1..Then restart your PC..Then delete the leftover EVGA_Co.,_Ltd folder located in the C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local folder..Then install Precision X1 again.

If you already uninstalled the Standalone Version, delete that remaining folder.

Those folders are normally hidden so you need to set the folder View Options to Show hidden files, folders, and drives to see them.

Alternatively, you can use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall Standalone Precision and the leftover files/folders and registry entries..But be SURE you ONLY checkmark to delete the Precision registry entries shown in bold text..Then restart your PC..Then delete the EVGA_Co.,_Ltd folder..Then install Precision again.

I would uninstall the Steam Version (from Programs and Features) or at least disable it from starting before you install the Standalone Version.

The leftover folder for Steam Version of Precision is in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common folder.

And I'll guess you're running Win10 Pro or Enterprise (that have more Precision startup problems than Win10 Home)?..There are other paths we can go down if that's the case.

Custom fan curve is ok to resolve the fan start-stop-start-stop stuff in idle, but when the whole system is starting and fans start spinning a clicky noise is there all the time when a turn on my pc........

As suspected, Win10 Pro..Hopefully EVGA's working on it..I think it has to do with the extra security measures/permissions in that version.

But Create A Basic Task to run At log on of any user and see if that works..Name it EVGA Precision X1..Checkmark to Run with highest privileges..If there's already a task for Precision X1, right-click it and then End, then Delete it, or if it's not set to Run with highest privileges and run At log on, try that instead.

You can also try right-clicking on the Desktop Shortcut..Then Properties..Then in the Security tab Edit give all Groups/Users Full permission, if not already and if you can.

Perhaps..As it says at the beginning of the Precision installer, you should close all programs before proceeding with the install..Or you can uninstall/disable Riva Tuner before the install.

I'm assuming you're talking about during post, and not when just logging into windows?
