A Great Folding Driver.

Can you post some results to show us it being a Great Folding Driver before we going changing our rigs?

That was the point I was trying to get at.

There are too many New Work Units (WU) to compare and provide any real data.

Indeed.
At best, nvidia plays around with the OC numbers.
On some drivers I've seen higher numbers in control, but on extreme overclocking had the same PPD. This could indicate that some projects folded quicker, but some slower.
I've also seen driver updates where I could push the cards higher. Meaning, old driver +100Mhz GPU, new driver +125Mhz, however both case scenarios the GPU frequency was the same.
Meaning, the new driver folded slower, unless pushed harder.

Third, there's no say that driver updates will affect all cards of the same generation, or even if they would affect cross brand (since there are a-binned, b-binned, and AA-binned chips of each GPU).

It seems nobody cares about the Studio Drivers around here but I am still using them the they work well for what I need it for and file size is smaller as it only includes 10 series and up also like the less frequent need to install a new driver to say update.

Studio drivers are slightly different than the gaming drivers and are thus more likely to have CUDA and OpenCL optimizations built in.
Games don't rely on those APIs and thus there is little incentive to include them in gaming driver builds. Also stability is a higher focus as well with Professionals that ate likely to be running the Creator driver stack.
Besides the point bcavanaugh makes that there are changes in performance on different drivers. I for 1 love reading his updates on the viability of new and old drivers on real world folding performance.

According to this article, game ready drivers (in my opinion) can be compared to the latest Linux releases, while studio drivers can be compared to LTS releases.
Meaning, studio drivers focus on reliability, while game ready drivers focus on optimizations.
NVIDIA recommends you to use the game ready drivers, as (my opinion again), whatever works stable on game ready drivers, will trickle down to the studio drivers.

I'm sure the studio drivers perform pretty close to the game ready drivers.
But for the newest cards, you'll have best success with sticking with the game ready drivers.
