I bought some speakers from Fry's back in Dec. 2017 and well, being a home theater noobie, I thought the audio wasn't 100% there because I didn't purchase all speakers. I had the front left, front right, center and subwoofer. When I used surround sound the audio was muffled and I thought this was because I was missing my surround speakers, so I just set it to 2-channel and have been using it like that ever since. I only moved it to multi-channel for my music and this sounded normal since the audio plays from the left and right as well.

I just bought some RP-502S surround speakers so I switched it to multi-channel for movies and the sound was still muffled, I looked it up and it turns out it means the tweeter is blown, Had I looked it up when I bought it, I could have taken it back to Fry's and had it replaced, but because of my own dumb decision, It's been nearly 2 years. Now my only option is to call Klipsch to see if they can replace it for me the only issue is I don't have the receipt, all I have is a bank statement showing the date of purchase at the retail store.

I was wondering if anyone has ever replaced the tweeter on a Klipsch speaker or if anyone has gotten an RMA through them. I just ordered a new center speaker, but I'd still like to have this one fixed/replaced through them seeing as it has 5 years warranty...

Update in case this ever appears on a Google search or what not.

Submitted a ticket on Sunday, I also added a message on Tuesday, It is now Friday and no responses at all.

I couldn't call due to the business hours and my company phone policy, but today is Friday and I am off, so I called and it is well within business hours, No one answered from Customer Service.

It's a shame such a great company has such crappy service.

I bought my new RP-450C from Crutchfield as well, I think from now on I'm purchasing EVERYTHING online.

This whole receipt thing is annoying, Luckily I called corporate and explained to them, they asked if I could call the same number for customer support 1 more time, so I did and they picked up. They checked my ticket and said I needed my receipt, but because I didn't have it, they could check it based off serial # and lucky for me it was manufactured in 2016 so it's still in warranty... they're going to ship me a tweeter so I can replace it.

I'll probably swap the tweeter and sell it on OfferUp, since I'd rather keep the 450C as it's a beast compared to the 440C! an inch taller and 5 inches wider, everything about it is a monster lol

That is good to hear that they are taking care of you since I have a pair of Klipsch PC speakers I have had for several years and liked. While I am sure my warranty on it has ran out I feel it's a good set for the price but would feel bad recommending a brand to others if they are a pain to get an replacement from.

I got an invoice, but no tracking number. I added to the ticket and they responded really quick, they said they’re going to check with UPS to see where the package is and something about shipping a new one, they probably forgot to ship it in the first place 😂😂

He is the only guy I use for Klipsch, SVS and TV's.

Finally got to open up the speaker!

Turns out it was NOT a fault tweeter! Someone fell asleep in the production line and forgot to connect the tweeter lol! as soon as I put light into the box after opening it, I was greeted by this:

Just to make sure, I pushed it in and plugged it into my receiver and sure enough, the sound worked perfectly.

Welp, I have a replacement tweeter if I ever need one ^_^!

Glad it was an easy fix cause the replacement was going to drive me nuts, the screws are kind of hard to get off with such a small box. Either way, I'm selling the 440C since I bought my 450C lol

But would you really expect this kind of error from a company like Klipsch? >_<! Would've been better if the tweeter WAS damaged lol!
