Been getting crashes in Battlefield 4 since Windows last 3 updates and it has been suggested to undo any OC's you have on CPU or GPU and see if the crashes stop.

Thing is, I go into the bios (1.07) to the OC tab and set it for Auto, then load defaults. But when I boot up and check CPUZ, it tells me I'm still running at 4800 MHz, not 3600. I thought about using the OC "manual" options and setting all the cores to 36 multiplier; but I shouldn't have to do that.

Any suggestions to get me back to baseline?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

The 9900k can boost up to 5 ghz at stock. If you want to only run at base clock speed then you'll just need to disable turbo in the bios.

DOH! Should have thought of that!

Worked, but BF4 still freezing. Its a weedoze thing but I want to be able to finish a game without locking up.

    I've tried just about everything....

    Thanks again

Run the GPU at Nvidia stock speeds if Factory OC GPU

Do Not Run XMP profile on MB for RAM - either set timing & Voltage manually if that fails then - run "Intel CPU RAM spec" for your RAM speed "DDR4-2666"

Sounds like you should use system restore to restore your system to a previous date when everything was working correctly since you started having issues after windows updated.
