Let me state up front I'm a solo player only. I managed to beat BL2 on normal, TVHM and UVHM.

I pre-purchased BL3 with the expectation the game play would mirror the free teaser game content the publisher made available for owners of BL2.

I was wrong. This game is written for co-op through and through with the one-after-another ridiculously hard story bosses.

Ball, Kilavolt, the Warden and now the Anointed Goliath I ran into at level 24 where I quit out of frustration after multiple attempts.

All of these bosses are far harder than any of the regular BL2 story bosses. And the end game BL2 Warrior wasn't as tough by any measure.

It's apparent to me the dev's purposely intended having to farm these bosses to get Legendary weapons in order to be able to beat the next one and so on.

When you're 2 to 3 levels higher than the level of a boss and you have to struggle to the point of quitting out of frustration .... this isn't fun game play.

Well, it isn't. The brain dead dev's didn't think it necessary to allow manual save points then went one step further by not including a way to revert to a previous autosave point so as to be able to level up with better gear/weapons. The last place you quit is the only autosave point........

EDIT: Neglected to note as well that once you start the anointed goliath boss the doors you initially entered leading up to the theater boss location are no longer accessible so there's no way to back track to a fast travel station to explore other areas for gear/weapons and leveling up.

As such my only option is starting a new game.

    Just total crap in spades.

Cant you goto your map and fast travel? You dont have to goto the station in this one.

    Thank you!

I'm embarrassed to admit it didn't occur to me to bring up the map where it is possible to FT back to Sanctuary or in my case to the start of the Hammerlock mission leading up to the goliath boss encounter.

Wasn't possible in BL2 to FT with a map selection but is a new wrinkle with BL3 ... a creature of habit problem for me. That and another senior moment.

The savegame issues are still a common complaint with the game .. and the unbalanced boss to player leveling that forces solo players to have to farm for stronger weapons that don't drop during regular missions.

Yeah, we play on coop and had to go do side missions earlier to level up. We are stuck on another boss now who I have no idea how you will beat on single player and we are the same level as it. Good luck maybe respecing could help but leveling up a few times with getting higher level gear should help.

I've respected a couple of times but for the most part it comes down to not having the weapon strength. The rub is attempting to farm earlier bosses for better gear/weapons with the weaker weapons makes for a hard row to hoe playing solo. As I mentioned I was able to get through BL2 normal, TVHM and UVHM solo where the difficulty gradually ramped up as you progressed.

Not the case with BL3. The bosses have been much stronger from the get-go including the grunts which pretty much confirms the dev's wrote the game heavily tilted toward co-op.

Just curious... what level are you guys and which boss ??

We are level 31 and fighting agonize 9000 probably could beat him with enough time but we only tried once and it takes way too long. I've seen people playing solo complain about it too since he has an attack that can kill your mob while you are down. I've not respected yet but will soon but I cant imagine fighting some of the bosses on single player. We beat the boss you are on by me running around in circles when my wife's character died just trying to keep away from it until she got back.

Sometimes a respect or resetting a skill tree can help overcome a tough boss fight as often you are buying skills at a low level to help gear up but in later points at the game it would be better to use those points to live longer or do more damage. Sometimes people will even use the points to make super powered builds that can make games almost simple to beat.

I was soloing too at Normal difficulty and ran into the boss (a flying orb) and died quite easily, lol. Then I opened the game up to the public and appreciated the help. I really didn't mind doing so, but I'm not strictly a soloist. Maybe I was too low a level and without the right armour to begin with, but I think too that it was the developer's intention.
