I think CPU should stay in original state.
I know It's hard to look performance of Ryzen but AMD have much newer architecture and Intel didn't made such jump 10 years.

also make sure you put some clear nail polish or some liquid electrical tape on the capacitors on the chip so no lm can get on them accidentally
Got my liquid metal today. Had ran out of my old tube. Wow. What a difference I didn't think it would make that big a difference in temps. I am at 4.8ghz at 1.25v and temps aren't going over 88 in spikes and average temps are around 70 at full load in occt. Ran the test for about 40 min for now. I am getting a chiller on Friday hopefully that will help. Couple points to note in case anyone else browses this thread. Direct die + liquid metal + high mounting pressure doesn't work well. I had better luck with low mounting pressure for temps. High mounting pressure and I would have a few cores that spike. Also I used a little bit more liquid metal than compared to the videos you see when remounting the IHS I think it helps with the curve of the core. When I spread a very thin layer it didn't work well either.

Holy crap, Thanks for the advice I got the rockit cool IHS and wow I igot another 15-20C drop from it. Direct Die > Chilled water = 75-85C avg temp on hottest core on load some of them even reaching 95C peaks. Rockit cool IHS > Chilled Water = Avg temp is 50-55c with the hottest cores being 60c peaks are at 74C 4.9Ghz at 1.303 Vcore Vccin: 1.875

Solder has worse thermal conductivity and is thicker than liquid metal application so the temps would be worse. Also the 9700k has no hyperthreading so it would never perform like a 9900k.

Talking about koolance exc-450 vs Koolance Erm-3kuk-c
The chiller will work better for quick runs but for extended stress tests or real workloads the Koolance Erm-3kuk-c is going to a better option, your chip is going to be throwing out more than 450 watts so you will start to overload the chiller fairly quickly however that Koolance Erm-3kuk-c is one expensive sucker! you could certainly build a triple rad setup much cheaper but its a nice package for sure. The Koolance Erm-3kuk-c will also allow you to add whatever gpus you want to the loop without much penalty.

So from what I understand the chiller being able to keep the water temp sub ambient won't benefit me much? Like it won't help extract more heat out of the cpu?
I have a line on an erm for $500

It wont be able to hold the CPU sub ambient for anything other than quick benchmark sessions as you will exceed the 450 watt rating and then you will be just be dumping an extra 250watts into the room + your system draw Either grab a EXC-800 or a Hailea hc-500a which has the power to hold your coolant sub ambient under heavy load or the Koolance Erm-3kuk would be my recommendation. Keep in mind if you go sub ambient you need to be vigilant of condensation or do some serious insulating. Those Hailea units can be had for around 500$ new from somewhere like performance pcs.

So from the little testing I have done. It does not seem like a chiller is really going to get me better clocks.
So I guess my question is will it give me better temps than a koolance erm-3kuk.
It seems like a fools errand as this is not a benchmarking system so really just wasting money i think. I dunno.
It is quite nice to have all the heat removed from my PC area. But I guess the erm-3kuk will do that too.
