Hi guys,
would it be possible to remove the vapor chamber cooler from the chip, leave the fan in place and put the pump from the FTW3 hybrid kit in place?
I’m thinking this card- https://www.evga.com/prod...aspx?pn=11G-P4-2280-KR

The 2080Ti hybrid seems to be EOL and this could at least partially lower the temps.

More than likely you would have to cut the shroud, which would kill your warranty.  I wouldn't suggest it at all.

If you want to get an AIO cooler, maybe consider the Kraken G12 bracket, and a 240mm AIO?

I have meant to leave the original fan in place to cool RAM and PWMs and to leave the PCB “naked “ without the shroud.
I wonder what happened to that 2080ti hybrid kit, FTW3 kit is for sale and this one no. Maybe the faulty manufacturing..?

the blower fan needs and inlet and an outlet.  The opening above the fan works as the inlet, and the shroud works to direct the airflow out of the I/O section of the card. If you remove the shroud, the fan won't have any way to direct the airflow, so you wouldn't be cooling anything.

It probably had to do with cost versus supply and demand.  I highly doubt it had anything to do with faulty anything.

Good point on the inlet/ outlet. I had better look elsewhere. Thanks.
