Hey all

Now I know the message is the same, but it words it at it's best.
Anyways as co-owner of the x-3dfx facebook sector, I have decided with my crew to mass report this so the more reports ebay gets the sooner it will be taken down.
Especially to communities I am connected with to help spread word and get these auction reported as soon as possible, the more people make reports the sooner such a false listing will be taken down.

Here the Fraudulent Voodoo5 6000 listing:
https://www.ebay.de/itm/3...d-working/362751530027

Seller info:
https://www.ebay.de/usr/s..._trksid=p2047675.l2559

Even that they have 16 Feedback points, could be friends of them or alt accounts made by the same seller
https://feedback.ebay.de/...d=p2545226.m2531.l4585
If I am not aloud to post this here, feel free to let me know and I will remove it, I will understand.

Hereby I will advised the photo owner nick named Surrimugge to also report this seller for stealing their photo material of their own card.
There is a way to contact ebay manually which is the way I'd go for I'd phone them and get this sorted out as soon as possible.
I also DM'ed the owner of the photo's of this issue at hand.

Here photos of Surri's actual card from 3dfx.ch:

Here the one from ebay but rotated right 90 degrees to help compare easier:

Here the rear view revealing the decals they are all on the same exact position:

Surri's card:

Ebay seller's card:

Normally every card differs where it comes to fan wiring placement how they are bent left alone decals are always differently placed, one is most sloped than the other etc.
But as shown here the card being listed on that auction is 100% identical to the one my friend Surrimugge owns, and at the 3dfx community we all know for sure that Surri does not want to part with their card, hence why I made this thread.

Stealing & using photo's from others for sales is breaking rules with ebay even as other market place sites goes using fake photo's or stolen photo's is always a big no no, so you can report the seller from doing this.

At x-3dfx we have already mass reported this sale but the more people report the better and the sooner ebay will have it removed as well.

So please help warn your own 3dfx communities for those that are part of other ones so no one needs to fall for this fraudulent sale thereby helping to protect your own members.
Keep your members safe EVGA, especially from such fraudulent listings, avoid at all costs.

Gold Leader / Obi Wan KenobiV6K, co-owner of x-3dfx FB sector.

Well it seems this seller has been busy again and trying to sell a 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP 64MB with box & Driver CD on ebay as well even though the photo is again stolen from an other friend of mine aka MadYoshi from B Voodooalert.de as well it's this auction that being:
    https://www.ebay.de/itm/3dfx-Voodoo5-5500-32-MB-110-0874-111-Graphics-Card-agp/362749830310

As you can see the photo actually comes from this website that my friend MadYoshi runs and owns:
    http://www.glidegallery.com.nu/

Here the picture from this site:

Here the original link of the photo:
    http://glidegallery.bplaced.net/3dfx/image/voodoo_bilder/Voodoo%205%205500%20AGP%20OCP.jpg

He told me he had the card since 2001 and he still has it, I can't stand that ebay is o slow even the 100+ Reports they had of this seller doing these fake auctions....
I really hope this scammer gets banned from ebay , just a shame ebay is so slow at actually removing scammers , it's kind of disappointing and it's also affecting my friends as well, ah well I am going to report this one just as I did with the other one it's all we can do sadly.

Even so, I still bet all the other auctions this guy has are stolen images of other people as well...won't be all too surprised then either if I have to be very honest.

Thing is, this is so specialized that he has to be a member of your community. I doubt he'd know otherwise just how rare these specific things are. Unfortunately, look within for the scammer.

Yeah I had similar thoughts, I could be a banned member from x-3dfx, Voodoalert maybe, I am thinking I'd have to mail the VA owner as x-3dfx goes so far it's not one of ours we are only active on Facebook.
Our forum fays are long gone sadly.

I'm used to seeing vintage computer part scams. Some of them are recapping scams where people offer to recap a mobo or card and keep the card. Some people are no good with a soldering iron and need capacitor replacement as a service. All those 80's and 90's equipment need battery and electrolytic capacitor replacement to a modern variant that does not leak. If you're into vintage computing this is something that most people need to be mindful of.

Yeaps we have some that carry out Polymer Capacitor mods for their mainboards sound & VGA cards as well.
This will help increase lifespan by a great margin, I sadly can't do this but I have contacts that can thankfully  :)

    Anyways

It seems one Oak Polish is the guy that stole videos & Pics from their owners and it also seems that this connected to the scammer from ebay selling the cards with photo's from people I actually know.

Here a video from this Oak Polish guy, he took screenshots from his monitor from parts of this video and used them as photo's for his false Voodoo5 6000 auction...

Again this is stolen video material from my friend Surrimugge aka 3dfxhistory:

It seems the seller got IP banned for their poor actions for stealing and using photo material they don't own for their scam sales.
They have seemed to changed their name from sewil6573 to sarmuch293 probably to hide themselves from the crowd...
But eventually failed to proceed, the moment they were found out by the owners of the photo's , the owners phoned ebay personally and got the scammer IP banned and all their accounts got nuked.

Here the post confirmation at Voodooalert.de

Also I have added the tweet from Surrimugge thanks to SWZSSR from x-3dfx for providing me this info :)

Mission Accomplished, they come back we will strike harder simple, nobody messes with the 3dfx community hah!
So yeah it seems this was worth pursuing then, hereby I thank everyone that helped report the bastard.

Yeah well for us 3dfx veterans such things aren't pleasant to deal with but they have to be faced over being ignored and many people don't have the guts to face such things heads on, ansd as owner of the oldest running 3dfx community such things just bother me and I have to face them head on even if it's alone or with multiple communities, in the end we will win since such criminals won't be respected in any ways or forms.

Scammers & copycats are just annoying they make nothing great for no one especially stealing photographic material from people I have known for  quite a long time and doing as if they have those tings for sale, it's just disappointing to see and we all all thankful for allowing to have this posted here at EVGA as well as other places, the more people know of it and report such casses the sooner they will be dealt with the proper way via ebay.

So many thanks for helping out EVGA <3
Even have read this thread or given a reply that is already counts

This scammer isn't to bright. I think he is using his personal account to pull off this scam.  The feedback I think is even legit. If you notice almost all of them the scammer is the buyer and you notice almost all of them revolve around the same kinda thing modeling even all the ones where he is the seller its all models. And people are creatures of habit and most peoples shopping history is clumps of things their interested in with the odd thing here and there alot like this scammers feedback.  Most scammers well at least ones better then this guy uses a completely different alt account and the fake feedback is almost always all over the place random.  Not at all saying its 100% actually legit and its not all fake. Just looks like the scammer is really dumb and useing his personal account. Even has a normalish amount of purchases/feedback for the age.  Its not way over inflated or just 1 or 2 things.
