EVGA Thermal pads placement

hey i was changing my thermal paste on my gpu and i forgot the placement of one thermal pad 
 
is it ok if a thermal pad is covering the copper like this photo? cause i just put it directly over the copper like this guy.

    if thermal pads are not damaged they can be reused

    so is it leaving the thermal pad on the copper its original placement?
