that active client count is too low... because that would mean a single processing core GPU or otherwise is doing over 15 million PPD! and they are doing over 2,000 WU per day...

Yeah, I found it out too, Even with Titan RTX cards, he couldn't have gotten that much. BTW, He runs only runs 8 GPUs. He recently switched over to Linux, hence the higher PPD count. Also, he's running 1x CPU. His turnover rate is about 1 hour and 20 minutes per WU. That's about 66% faster than my 2080 RTX Tis https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu?&q=jobberI can only conclude he must be stinking rich, and own an exotic card (like 2 entire TITAN RTX servers(4) , dumped under a continuous flow of liquid nitrogen). I see no other way to even get close to that score.. Perhaps they're running some test platforms from Nvidia themselves... Might be interesting, if this is the new Nvidia technology. There have been few who got 100-200M PPD, but stayed under the radar, due to only folding for <2 days.

I'm thinking it's Nvidia deep learning research...
I know Nvidia is more and more entering the market with AI, and what better way than to test it on folding.
If the hardware is affordable (sub $5k) it might be worth it with those scores!

With those stats it has to be a custom nvidia server. One of the DGx servers or workstation makes the most sense. That or a super computer node they are testing.

DGX-2 are 250K and up. But remember when DGX came out someone at NVIDIA caught our eye and ran it for about a month.

Yeah, the hashtag thing was just my sense of humor. I don't even know or care if it was a real hashtag. Me and a buddy of mine had an inside joke of creating hashtags of "Get[adjective]'d" in high school. I made my first post thinking I was contributing something to the thread, noticed it was my first post and decide to add something quirky as a cheer. I come back, my post has been censored, I get a user accusing me of advertising and the thread had been locked for review. I knew the F@H community was unwelcoming, but I feel pretty attacked by getting the thread temporarily locked.
I just thought, "Why didn't bcavnaugh and Chris21010 get warnings for linking to a website?" transdogmifier

using GPUs is an easy way to reach that 100 M PPD mark. but they have about 8,000 clients and are completing CPU WU. this is someone who has installed F@H on MANY MANY machines, about doubling the client count on the project as a whole. just search his name here to see his recent completed WU: https://apps.foldingathome.org/cpu

You're talking about s3vams3rr1sd. I was talking about Jabber. More than likely, s3vams3rr1sd isn't running regular CPUs. It would take more power than a regular powerplant can provide. More than likely that one is something like a Bitcoin antminer, with full cores, as a single core 128 thread CPU would register as 1 CPU. So I'm thinking many small separate cores, much like an antminer. But I can't really find any modern server with this configuration for sale today. Most servers use single or double CPUs with many cores and threads , which still doesn't explain the massive amounts of CPUs used (as each individual CPU is registered as 1 CPU, regardless of how many cores it has)... Seeing that 500 of the even energy friendliest CPUs of 65 Watt, would consume well over 30kW of power, I can only think of servers directing FAH computations to website visitors, using their CPUs... Jabber on the other hand, did all that with just a handful of GPU cores, which perfectly could describe the server in link above. Definitely next gen server market. And from the looks of the NVidia server, That thing might be pulling close to 3.2kW on power as well as costing $100-110k (DGX1) If all will be ok, we'll be running that in our homes in the not so far future (think 5-10 years from now), for just a few grand, running at 1/2 to 2/3rd the energy demand of current gen.
