Is there any information if the MICRO 2 supports pcie bifurcation. I read the manual but found no help on it.
Also if there is no pci bifurcation and this board supports VROC then why is there no lane bifurcation support? Isnt that the whole point of having VROC?

Has anyone been able to use the ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Card with any EVGA motherboard? Thanks.

example of pci bifurcation:
splitting an x16 lane into four 4x.
splitting an x16 lane into two 8x.

PCIe Distribution for the EVGA X299 MICRO 2 is outlined on page 22 of the manual and will be dependent on the type of CPU that you are using.

    • PCIe Slot Breakdown for 44 Lane Processors
      • PE1 >> x16 lanes directly connected to CPU
      • PE2 >> x16 lanes directly connected to CPU
      • PE3 >> x4 lanes connected to PCH
    • PCIe Slot Breakdown for 28 Lane Processors
      • PE1 >> x16 lanes directly connected to CPU
      • PE2 >> x8 lanes directly connected to CPU
      • PE3 >> x4 lanes connected to PCH

Basically anything connected to PE3 will be x4 lanes connected to the PCH and PE1/PE2 will either be x16/x16 or x16/x8 depending on CPU. From the picture it looks like you have your GPU in PE1 and the ASUS Hyper M.2 in PE2, so once again depending on CPU its either running at x16 or x8. Are you having some type of issue?

Also what GPU are you running? I see that you only have one power cable coming from the PSU to the GPU... depending on the GPU I would suggest running two separate PCIe 8 pin cables from the PSU to the GPU.

Thank you jasoncodispoti for the response, I saw what you are talking about on page 22 however I am talking about splitting one lane into multiple different lanes (pcie bifurcation). I am currently using an i9 7980xe so I shouldnt have issues but the Hyper M.2 Card is being used at 4x and only one m.2 is seen by the bios since there is no pci bifurcation. Its a 1080ti fe. I dont have any issues with the one cable since I rarely stress my GPU at all.

Thank you zGunBLADEz does that mean that I would be able to use the HYPER M.2 card with that motherboard? Thank you for the info but I would like to stick to the micro 2.

Ohh, the X299 Dark supports it according to TiN in another post, but I have no idea if the MICRO 2 does, my guess would be no. I would open a ticket with EVGA Support to see about getting an official response on the subject.

Actually it does. In the first 2 pci slots it let you break it as you want to do bifurcation i dont see the point having a onboard vroc slot if you cant do bifurcation..

Theres alot of features missing in this board bios that my asrock x299m have. Another one cache is tied to c-states this will slow your system big time if you using c-states and adaptive settings. It will show as stutter and is very quickly to notice.

I want to keep the board too as much i love the hardware the software/bios it have is holding the full potential of the board. Not my opinion is reality.

Find funny i havent seen no rep from evga on any on this topics yet.

So the ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Card in PE1 and GPU in PE2 will work? Assuming a 44 lane CPU and VROC adapter is installed...
