Assetto Corsa Competizione, the big AAA race simulator slated for a September release, will lack support for NVIDIA RTX real-time raytracing technology, not just at launch, but even the foreseeable future. The Italian game studio Kunos Simulazioni in response to a specific question on the Steam Community forums confirmed that the game will not receive NVIDIA RTX support.

"Our priority is to improve, optimize, and evolve all aspects of ACC. If after our long list of priorities the level of optimization of the title, and the maturity of the technology, permits a full blown implementation of RTX, we will gladly explore the possibility, but as of now there is no reason to steal development resources and time for a very low frame rate implementation," said the developer, in response to a question about NVIDIA RTX support at launch. This is significant, as Assetto Corsa Competizione was one of the posterboys of RTX, and featured in the very first list by NVIDIA, of RTX-ready games under development.

Interesting...did AMD come knocking with a better proposal to them or they're looking for something from Nvidia?

Then why did you come into the thread lol.

Actions speak louder than words, and you took the time to come in and say you don’t care, which shows you cared enough to state that you don’t... not one person would have cared if you just scrolled past, to include you. ;-)

I think a random dev house actually gets it, for once. Performance optimizations that equate to higher FPS is more important than dynamic shadow lighting for certain game genres. The height of stupidity I thought was always twitch shooter games that are pushing this RTX nonsense. It's 200% counter intuitive to what the games should be optimizing for.

That's just inviting criticism from other members. Not a good idea to keep the peace around here.

I used to think nobody would want RTX in a shooter like battlefield 5 but then I realized reflections in windows can be very useful. Running forward you can see the reflection of what is behind you like an enemy or use it to see around corners like you could in real life. It can give a nice advantage to just have that going and it's natural.

As for this game it would have been very nice to see reflections on the cars and real headlight lighting. Real time lighting could really change the lighting enough for weather effects and time of day to really feel different.

Oh, hmm.  Some forum users have made comments stating that ray tracing is easier to develop for, because then the developer doesn't have to design traditional fake lighting which uses a bunch of tricks.  Oh, wait, the game engine designers already did that for them years ago.
