I posted this as a support ticket and couldn't get much help so looking towards the lovely community for any assistance if possible :) I'll copy paste what I wrote:

I have received my 980 Ti Kingpin on Monday from B-stock. I love the card!

But I'm having issues with the LED lighting. The card does not produce any other colors than faint shades of white, the lights are "breathing" and it's impossible to control them. I've attached picture but they don't help so much, I also made a video (but the lights flicker in the video, not IRL).

I've tried Precision XOC and Precision X1, both have the same LED control software, where I can select my card and colors but nothing changes it on the actual card. It stays breathing with shades of white. I've tried with and without LED Synce, no ball. I've also followed the "troubleshooting guide" from EVGA regarding Precision X1 (https://www.evga.com/support/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=59762)

I wonder if there's anything else I can try? The card is fantastic and runs good, but really bothering me that I have the ugly breathing lighting that is not changeable so far. I was trying to get them to work for hours last night, but nothing seemed to help out.

I am looking forward to any further suggestions!

Kind regards,
Matt

I believe 5 small white LEDs need to light whole the time.
Not to blink. But I'm not sure.
Looks like EVGA BStock have interesting stuff sometimes.
I'm big fan of K|NGP|N models no matter on series.

Yeah sorry those 5 white LEDs are pure white and static, these are normal (for power ?) but I meant the normal RGB lighting zones with the backplate and side of the card are breathing and colors don't seem accurate

I looked video clip and on video looks like they blink.
If they are steady that mean GPU power is normal and only something is wrong with RGB.
B-Stock have warranty 3 months I think I hope you will fix, it's nice card.

Yeah that's something to do with the FPS capture rate of the video, they don't actually blink IRL :)

Thanks, I think the card is fantastic so hopefully can fix it! Otherwise the tech support said RMA but I'd really rather not if it's possible to avoid.

Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately also this version didn't have any effect on changing the LEDs either.

Did you check the Connections on the PCB?

Mine aren't even lighting up on the sides now?  The LED sync seemed to wipe out whatever factory setting was made, and now they only light up on the bottom evga (not the side or between the fins)  I've heard that maybe reflashing the bios will make it go back to normal? I don't know.  I'd just like them to light up again, they looked pretty cool all lit up, regardless of color.  My mistake for playing around with the LED controller.  If anybody knows of a better LED controller, please share!  Thanks
