We know it is coming, EA's financials said it would. This financial year will have a new Need for Speed game, and now the publisher has started a countdown timer, a timer which hints at an upcoming game reveal. During its recent investors call, EA confirmed that their unnamed Need for Speed game would be present at Gamescom 2019, an event which is due to start on August 20th. EA's countdown timer will end on August 14th at 3 PM (UK time), one week before the game is showcased in Cologne Germany.

EA's next Need For Speed game is expected to release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Like most EA titles, no Nintendo Switch version is expected.

If you like automotive racing on your gaming console or PC then this will be fun.

It will be interesting to see what this game is. The one problem with the NFS series is sometimes the games are arcade and sometimes they try to go more serious racer. Also often times the games have other racers set to take you out of the race not with skill but with aggressive demolition derby driving. In a way I wish that they would fully embrace the arcade racing game because they are never going to be like Forza or any other serious racing title.

NFS is such a joke franchise. It's a grand meme now days in how terrible EA is at stereotyping youth culture. Every time EA releases a new installment you think they hit rock bottom only to top themselves next time. I can't explain who or why EA greenlights these games, but they are just easily the worst racing games out there. I watched the reveal trailer and frankly they should have just hired Steve Buscemi to do the how-do-you-do-fellow-kids meme instead because that's all it is.
