Say what you will about CureCoin and their methods for getting folders to join them, but they are certainly pumping a LOT of Work Units to the Stanford folks, and all that work DOES go into the science.
 
In about 3 days from now (1:16pm EDT, July 23rd, 2019) CureCoin will be the first team in the Folding at Home program to post 1 trillion points, and have crushed that work out in a FRIGHTENINGLY short amount of time.
 
Yeah, it does boil down to greed and our drive to make a quick buck and the lure of Crypto Currency, sure. But the end results is that there's a LOT more simulations for the Stanford people to analyze and learn from as a result of that greed.  Either way, for any of the CureCoin team who happen to wonder through our corner of the net, Congratulations on the record!  I'm truly in awe!

i will say that many, at least active in the community, are not doing Curecoin in greed. Curecoin is actually unprofitable atm for most people. many do it as a way to simply help cover expenses with a little income.

Yeah, I don't think greed is the right word to use. A bit harsh I think.
Nothing wrong with trying to recoup some of the $$ we spend on DC.
One trillion points is sure a whole bunch of points. Congratulations.

1 TRILLION point has now been surpassed with the last update. Banano is a fork of Nano, a top 50 crypto. Its popular enough that even a fork will have substantial hashing power behind it. Well substantial in terms of F@H but quite small in the crypto world.
