I've never really over clocked, but I decided to try it out using precision XOC. First thing I did was raise the power target to 120% (which also raised the temp). Ran the benchmark and it crashed about a quarter of the way through. Didn't touch anything else. Then I set the power/temp target back to default and raised the core gpu clock offset up to about 80 and the mem clock offset to 400 and it ran fine. Once again I tried to raise the power target (even to 105%) and it crashed. Thermals are fine through out...maxes at like 63 degrees. Also using two separate power cables going to the PSU from the video card.

Which version of Precision X OC ?

Is this the only version of X OC you have loaded on the PC ?

OS ? (details)

BIOS up to date on MB ?

Any OC on your MB, RAM or CPU ?

Did you run a "Auto OC feature" on your MB ?  (this could have OC the PCIe bus)

Which Nvidia driver ?

What if anything have you changed in Nvidia Control Panel ?

What if anything have you changed in Windows regarding Graphics ?  (Prefer Max Performance ?)

Monitor, type of cable to conect & refresh rate ?

Bios is up to date

XOC Version is 6.2.7

Windows 10 Pro

I did have the CPU manually overclocked and XMP set for my ram but set everything back to default and ran Heaven again with the same result when the power/temp target is moved up. At 100% it seems fine, can even raise the gpu and mem clock a bit.

Disabled gsync in nvidia control panel and changed power settings to adaptive (what its been running on) and also tried maximum performance. Same thing. Nothing else was changed in there from default.

Running 431.36 drivers

ROG Swift PG279Q monitor running at 1440p at 144hz with a DP cable

Havent changed anything in Windows regarding graphics.

Very odd. How old is your psu? Have you tried testing the card in another pci-e slot? Have you tried to reflash the vbios on the card?

Got it back in October of 2017 so not even two years yet. Gonna try to put it in another slot, also how do I go about reflashing the vbios?

You'll need to download nvflash, and use the nvflash64.exe to reflash the card. You can do that by drag & dropping the SC2 vbios onto the nvflash64.exe.

Tried flashing the bios, no joy unfortunately. Gonna try another PCI-E slot next..given the size of my case its a bit of a pain.
