When I got the FTW3 Ultra back in January I ran a few tests under load and found that the vram on MEM2 and 3 ran 10c hotter that the GPU. With a +200 overclock it got hotter still and the temp graphics on Precision X1 showed in red. With higher clocks the vram temps went about 15c over the GPU temp. These high vram temp are over time. Usually about half way through a Heaven bench.

I ran the same test today and the vram temps on MEM2 and 3 are still about 10c above the GPU temps but they don't go higher even at +1000. Also there is no longer a color graphic in Precision X1, so no more red and green.

I have not upgraded the bios on this card like I did with my 2080 ti XC so what could have made the change or am I just going nuts.

The memory seems to be running higher than the GPUs and has a higher tolerance so you should be ok as long as it's not in the 90c-100c+ area.

It was in the 90s but not now. That is what is so strange.
I am not really worried about the FTW3 Ultra because in games the GPU is around 69c or less under load and that puts the vram in the high 70s.
I am worried about my 2080 ti XC since it runs in the low 80s under load and if some of its vram is 10c higher it is in the 90s. I really regret not getting a card with sensors on the vram.

No worries.  You could always add a Hybrid cooler to it to decrease those temps if you'd like but unfortunately you'll have to wait till they're back in stock.
