I'm going from a corsair to an evga PSU soon.  My cables were sleeved and all nice and pretty.  I don't really want to sleeve and redo the cables that come with the EVGA PSU.    SO.   Think maybe I can get by with just removing the plastic connectors that were corsair and matching up the locations on the EVGA plastic connectors at the PSU end?  would save me a lot of time.   Or would it be possible just using the corsair cables if the line configuration is the same?    I am asking to see if I am missing something.

there's only really three I would do,  the two going to the video are 8 pin.   The 8 pin EPS going to the motherboard.  That's basically it.

I should be able to follow this.

just for information, the old PSU was a corsair AX1200 Gold

As long as you do the pinouts right it should work, just watch for magic smoke.

My biggest concern would be the SATA cables.  If you have EPS/PCIe cables that aren't quite wired correctly, although you could damage things, it will more likely ground the system and cause it to fail to POST/turn on.  However, if the SATA cables are mis-matched, you can kiss your HDDs and SSDs goodbye.

No, I'm switching out all my cables for the new ones that come with the power supply.  The only ones I sleeved where the graphics and the EPS.   all others will get swapped.

You do see that annotation about a capacitor?  Those tend to be under the sleeve heatshrink on the evga psu and may not be present on your corsair cables.  Likely will still work, but the capacitors are there to help the PSU perform a little better on voltage consistency.

    Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4 B3 / 2500k (4.5 GHz @ 1.28 volts) / XigmaTek HDT-S1283
Sapphire Pulse 5600XT (unlocked) / EVGA 650 GQ

    EVGA z590 FTW / 10700K / EVGA CLC280
    EVGA 3070 Ti XC3 / EVGA 850 G3 / ThermalTake F-51

ah, thank you.  Power supply arrives today, have not seen it yet, but I will look for that.  I planned on taking the cables individually out of the plastic connector and swapping out the wires each one by one, to make sure I get it right.  I'll look to see if any have caps, if they do, I will just redo the whole thing.

new power supply went well.  Put all new cables in.  The VGA did come with caps, so I may just leave it for now.  I'm getting lazy

I have both. The pink floyd (LP) and the motherboard.

the evga has an 8 pin cpu cable and the evga dark 390 has a 6 pin cpu connection.  Possible to plug that in? and how?  my old cable was a 6+2 config.

I sometimes cut the extra 2 Pins off the cable.

my mistake.  it's a PCIe supplemental.  Makes sense.  That's what I get for not reading.  Probably not necessary for a couple of 1070s.

Two or More Graphics Cards then you should use it, not necessary for a Single Graphics Card.
I still use it for a Single Graphics Card to reduce the strain on the 24 Pin Power Cable.

    8. Supplemental PCIe 6-pin Power Connector
There is a 6-pin PCIe connector at the bottom of the motherboard (See Page 40 for more specifics to the connector itself, and associated wiring/pinouts).
This connector provides dedicated power to the PCIe x16 slots, augmenting the +12V power provided by the 24-pin and the GPU directly.
This is optional for a single card solution, but is recommended for SLI, CFX, and dual-processor video cards.
    I Rotated the images
    The 8-Pin EPS CPU Cable.
