usb 3.0 ports on front of DG-87 not working

Hi all the front usb 3.0 ports on my DG-87 are not working right they will not keep my corsair void usb headset on it keeps on disconnecting and reconnecting, when I try to use Teamspeak 3 all I hear is static. Are the ports borked I thought it was the headset as it was working fine the 2 nights before, so I have checked the headset on my brothers rig and it was working fine, its working fine on the rear ports of my Z270 Classified K.

    Same MB and case -A quick though can you do a quick swap of the the two USB headers on the bottom of the MB as a test ?
     
    and I think I notice the front USB3 sockets port seems a bit loose a different usb cable or adapter may hold better
     
    the Short USB-3 extender cable would work as a test and while extenders USB cables not so good for external disk units - I have no problem with wireless/BT dongles ,keyboards or mouse.

    I would have to agree that testing the motherboard port on the motherboard would be a good place to start since it's mostly just a pass through cable.  Also you should see if the cable looks to have any damage or any right angle bends because of cable management since it cutting in and out could be a short in the cable.

    It's always possible the pass through cable is simply loose and needs to be reseated. The Corsair VOID USB cable is quite long so see if the motherboard USB ports work fine by connecting the headset to it.

    Headset works when plugged into the back of the motherboard, I have tried swaping the usb 3.0 on the motherboard for the pass through and it is still the same, so it might be the cable thats broken, Thanks for the help trouble shooting

    If you suspect a broken cable going from the front port to the header and it is a case cable then contact EVGA technical support
