Please post an image showing the lighting.

There is no lighting in my display, would have no sense due to the wooden planks it has
So I left out that option

@panzlock

No I don't the Boeing 747 is the only aircraft I care about and have something with, I never saw the point in collecting planes I don't have anything with or that don't mean anything to me, the Boeing 747 is the most iconic and best designed aircraft of all time and also the most reliable design ever made, I am an ex-B747 passenger I run my own Boeing 747 Community I partially own a 1978 KLM B747-206B(M)SUD, PH-BUK which is stationed at Aviodrome in Lelystad, The Netherlands a 168KM / 105Mile drive North of me, I go there 3 to 4 times a year and have full VIP access.
You can read about PH-BUK here:
https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2898370

Also I am connected to the original Boeing 747 Special Performance designer Gene Forsheim that being, plus the B747-100/200B/SP/300/400 & -8 Pilots, Builders, Painters, maintenance employee's, test pilots, First Class, Business Class Passengers, ex-Flight engineers you name it my entire life runs around the Boeing 747, so due to that, I have collected all the B747's I flew with, friends worked on fly with as Pilot, test pilots, Co-Pilot, Flight Engineers people that maintained them kept them airborne etc, people that flew them as first & business class passengers 3 to 4 times a week, people that collect the models sell the models even the makers of the model brands JC Wings & Inflght 200 and some others.

The Boeing 747 Community I run is a small enclosed group of  B747 Pilots, B747 designers, B747 builders, B747 maintenance workers, B747 model collectors, B747 photographers, B747 artists, B747 passengers and Boeing employee's I have made, which can be seen here
https://www.facebook.com/groups/B747community

We use Facebook as most people have it and it's an easy way to connect.

All in all the Boeing 747 is it all for me I don't want anything else so to reply to your post No I don't need it it doesn't interest me, the Boeing 767-200, Tupolev Tu-134, Tu-154, Vickers VC10 & Illyshin Ill-62 that being, they might interest you which is fine, but for me they are random aircraft like any other except the B747 which has a special place in my life, hence why I collect them.

@albiss

No worries

Hey all,

It's been quite a ride for the past 5 years, even before I joined the forum, today I just bought the last three Boeing 747's for my collection as the 30th, 31rst & 32nd B747's go that are these:

The first two from Arcunia, mainly thank their help for reserving me these as well yesterday

B747 No 30:

Boeing 747-481D
All Nippon Airways "Pokemon Pocket Monsters Livery (Jan 1999 - Feb 2006)"
JA8964
Scale 1:200
J-Fox Models

B747 No 31:

Boeing 747-438ER
QANTAS Australia "Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Livery 2016"
VH-OEJ "Wunala"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings

This last one I bought at Aviation Mega Store, they had the best deal for it and had it in stock as well:

B747 No 32:

Boeing 747-8KZF/SCD
Nippon Cargo Airways "NCA 30th Anniversary 2015"
JA14KZ
Scale 1:200
Gemini Jets 200 / JC Wings

My reasons are of the many these being my last 3 B747's for starters I don't have a B747-400D, I don't have a B747-400ER and I don't have a B747-8F that last one is the future for the B747 in the long run and the carriers that being ANA and Pokemon Yeah I needed that it just looks awesome heck there is even a Plesiosaur on it so that was always a must have the NCA B747-8F is flown by a friend of mine, even a member of this group aka Lou Boyer, I needed Snake Man's jet obviously for many reasons and the VH-OEJ, well my friend Lynley Quedley flew on several times, RIO 2016 was very cool to watch on TV, I seen this plane a few times myself, all in all it was a must have as well, so it made sense to get QF's B747-438ER with these last three.
For the final Display placing:
The ANA & NCA will be a display set the THAI B747-4D7 goes under my Singapore Tropical Megatop the Malaysia B747-4H6 94 years goes under Malaysia B747-4H6 Hibiscus Livery and the ANA & NCA go on the spot where my Thai & MY were at first, the NCA B747-8F's nose will be on opposite of the Korean Air B747-8B5I the 8i & 8F nose to nose the QF B747-438ER will go under my China Airlines B747-409 Jimmy Love & Hug Livery under that the other 6 Aussies as well

Tomorrow they should arrive, if not by Monday the upcoming week
I will post the triple multi part review of these three in this thread, as these form the final parts of my 32 part Boeing 747 collection for now, I know it has three PVC models in it but for now I am just going to stick with them as I have other projects in mind as well, like upgrading all my AMD Opteron servers & Workstations and that isn't going to be cheap either.

Hereby I would love to thank everyone that helped me out getting some of my models people like the following from the DA.C Forums:

AussieJets
DC-10 Tony
cownvic
StillAir
snowghost
Baerke
KLM4me
Rockybudgeboa
T7 4ever
TOGAselected
Ukeep
Ukrainian Falcons
vertigo11

+ All the members & friends at the Boeing 747 Community & AMCC!

And these 6 shops that really have helped me find my gems:

Arcunia
Aviation Mega Store
Dai Kong Hobby
Diecast Trader
Buy Gone World Models
Moons Models

And many many others if I haven't added ya, many people of the this wonderful community plus that of the Aircraft Model Collecting Community aka AMCC & Boeing 747 Community at Facebook as well, love you lot, many thanks for all the help & aid during these past 5 years
Help came from all places mainly helping me find these awesome models and communicating in my topics threads and other things.

I won't be leaving the DA.C Community to, just will be active with other things, I will pop in for a chat or two and see what all of you been gathering for your collections and yes I will keep all the boxes I have that is a lesson I have learned for you guys too hah, a worthy one that being

Hereby I will make this final review extra detailed and when the models arrive I'll start making tons of photo's of course!
For these additions this was a 5 year trip of pure excitement and a major challenge finding all the B747's of my past life ones friends worked on built test flew maintainced or were first,. business class & Economy class passengers or just designers alike.

When listening to Armin van Buuren's a State of Trance Episode 321, this remix from The Thrillseekers fitted this topic all to well, the B747 is always by your side (my side that being)

I enjoy looking at your models.  I did military type aircraft while in high school and donated all the models to the high school ROTC before going off to college.  I might go back and visit them some day.

My friend Lynley Quedley flew with it to Antarctica a few times to celebrate new years, a very unique experience she told me hehe

dont forget to get the Austin Powers shag jet

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Not my interest that one, I never was bothered or interesting in that Austin Powers stuff, I prefer real existing things over science fiction when it comes to collecting Boeing 747's.
it's that I  just have nothing with this Austin Powers stuff, sorry, heh.

The final three will form the final parts in my collection as these go:

01.) QANTAS/Martinair B747-21AC PH-MCF will replace the TNT B747-4HAF/ER/SCD, and be displayed under the QANTAS B747-438ER VH-OEF.

note in the background the QANTAS Ochre Livery and later QANTAS Spirit of Australia liveries side by side.

Ochre Livery:

Spirit of Australia Livery:

Hence that being I have those two this QANTAS/Martinair needs to be a part of my collection as I seen it in 1988 & 1989 several times and always wondered what livery it was, many years later I found out it was a Martinair B747-21AC that was hired out to QANTAS back in the day, yet it's livery made it like an original QANTAS livery that sat between ochre livery & Spirit of Australia Livery hence my reason, it's something rare and super exclusive.
with 19 others from the DA.C forums we signed a petition for Inflight 200 to make us a model of this exact aircraft with the QANTAS//Martinair livery and we succeeded, so this spot has already been reserved, hence it being rare and super exclusive for this reason.
Here the photo my dad made back in 1988 of this exact aircraft:

02.) Thai Airways International B747-2D7B TS-TGA will replace the Lufthansa B747-830i D-ABYL Hessen, and will be placed under the Thai Airways International B747-4D7 HS-TGG.

03.) QANTAS B747-438 VH-OJB Wunala Dreaming 01 will be replaced with the JC Wings diecast metal release of it, that are my main plans as of now.

After that back to upgrading and maintaining my three Supermicro powered AMD Opteron servers/workstations

Re: Here my Entire Model Aircraft Collection and what follows :) 2019/05/28 06:00:05 (permalink)
Hey all

Yesterday my 32nd B747 finally arrived!, so here she is then:

Boeing 747-8KZF/SCD
Nippon Cargo Airways "NCA 30th Anniversary 2015"
JA14KZ

Scale 1:200
Gemini Jets 200 / JC Wings

This is the B747-8F that my friend and member of this group Flies he goes as Captain Lou Boyer , Always wanted Snake man's jet and this is it for sure, Gemini Jets 200 did their best to bring this aircraft to the finest details!
It's been quite the ride I have to admit a good 5 years of collecting Boeing 747 diecast models, left alone 3 are still PVC they will be replaced within the upcoming 3 a 5 months all depending on what I find first what it may cost etc.
Anyways enjoy the photo's this was an awesome piece to unpack and add to my main display with all the other 31 Boeing 747 models. all are scale 1:200, I'l show extra more pics of this last one, since it 's quite different from all the others.

Note the crystallized landing lights in the wing and nose gear:Quite the beauty to be honest!

This is my current wallpaper at the moment, just love this view:

Being a freighter, it looks like a modernized B747-100 in many ways due to the three windows on each side and the short upper deck:

It has this 30th Anniversary of Inaugural Flight Since 1985 logo on it, this livery is from 2015 when it comes to this 30th Anniversary livery:

Here the General Electric NX2B engines with the GEnx logo's printed on them:

Note the crystallized landing lights in the wing and nose gear:

It's hard to make this shots, the facial view of the beast:

Here one of my drone shots, well I call em that in the way the angle of the cam is posed:

Here a lovely top shot of it's head:

And off to the other side:

Note the cool NCA logo on the belly & the small red doors on the underside of the inner right wing which houses the Ram Air Turbine:

Here the stand shots:

this is definitely my favorite B747-8F as well, just love this livery, very simple and clean looking:

Gemini Jets 200 did a great job when it comes down to the finest of details, just like JC Wings & BBOX are known for doing:

But I do notice that Gemini Jets 200 doesn't apply name plates to their stands like all the other brands do:

That is kind of a shame in my opinion, that is if you plan on displaying it on the stand for that part.

Here the Final display:

Both B747-8i & B747-8F nose to nose:

32 Boeing 747's at 1:200 in total

And there ya have it, well for now. the replacements are next with the QF B747-438 VH-OJB Wunala Dreaming 01 from JC Wins as first one to replace, from Herpa Wings PVC to JC Wings Diecast.
Then I replace my LH B747-830i from Herpa Wings PVC to a Thai Airways International B747-2D7B the HS-TGA from inflight 200 and after that the Martinair/Qantas B747-21AC from Inflight 0200 to replace my TNT B747-4HAF/ER/SCD from Skymarks to complete this collection for once and for all

Hey all!

Here my first replacement from Herpa Wings PVC to JC Wings diecast metal of the following aircraft:

Boeing 747-438
QANTAS Australia "Wunala Dreaming 01"
VH-OJB "City of Sydney"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings

This model is discontinued and new in old stock, that I reserved at Diecast Trading, Utrecht, The Netherlands.

This one was a very hard one to find in JC Wings version, but patience really paid off well and finally with this all my Australian B747's are diecast metal @ 1:200.
My main objective has been achieved with this beauty. Wunala Dreaming means Kangaroo Dreaming for those wondering.

The photo's are from the seller they are just for reference now, this gallery and it's post will be updated once this B744 arrives, so here they are:

What I also will do is make pics of this newer diecast metal version of the model compared to the PVC version of it from Herpa Wings.
That with Nalanji Dreaming as well some set photo's would be cool too

The more I Look at this model, the more photo's I took of it, just happy they worked out exceptionally well.
There by revealing it's orange hue's and other colors that were used for the Wunala Dreaming art, the painted engines, it's Winglets make it very complete:

So yeah from PVC to Diecast it was well worth the change alright!
Just more colors, better use of the correct color pallets and much better Art accuracy the patterns of the art are better with the JC Wings by an Air mile and that with all the better details the diecast metal model has over the PVC version as well, it's just the better result for this wonderful model and a true must have for all you die-hard Boeing 747 fans & model collectors.

Final Display:

32 B747's in main display 30 are diecast metal 2 are PVC, But yea almost there!

And there you have it, during the making of these photo's and making this long post Lou Reed kept me company, here the concert I had playing all day, this music has good movement it really kept my mind focused:

Lou Reed Live at the Capitl Theatre, Passic, New Jersey, USA (September 25, 1984)

Just a major Lou Reed & B747 Fan, goes very well together

Hey all

Today I made new photo's of my SST collection as it's currently in a new display in my bedroom, I will be adding more SST's for the upcoming months, mainly Concorde's and Tu-144's they are the best for diecast 1:200 model formats.

First off the two Concorde's from Hogan Wings, these seem to be very rare these days and near to impossible to find, I am glad I have these, even despite them lacking certain antenna's they were worth getting none the less:

Concorde's @ 1:200

Aérospatiale - BAC Concorde
British Airways "Landor Livery"
G-BOAE "Alpha Echo"
Scale 1:200
Hogan Wings

Aérospatiale - BAC Concorde
Air France "Standard Livery"
F-BVFC "Foxtrot Charlie"
Scale : 200
Hogan Wings

Here the Tupolev Tu-144's, these are all from Herpa Wings:

Tu-144's @ 1:200

Tupolev Tu-144LL
Tupolev - NASA - Boeing - TSAGI - MOCKBA
RA-77114
Scale 1:200
Herpa Wings

Tupolev Tu-144S
Aeroflot
CCCP-77110
Scale 1:200
Herpa Wings

Tupolev Tu-144D
Aeroflot
CCCP-77112
Scale 1:200
Herpa Wings

But also these are in these pics:

Tu-144's @ 1:400 & 1:500

Tupolev Tu-144S
Aeroflot
CCCP-77107
Scale 1:400
Herpa Wings

Tupolev Tu-144S
Aeroflot "Tu-144 Demo Livery"
CCCP-77101
Scale 1:400
Herpa Wings

Tupolev Tu-144S
Herpa Wings Christmas 2012 Special
CCCP-X-Mas 2012
Scale 1:500
Herpa Wings

The SST Collection is rather small at the moment, but that will most likely grow this up coming year's 2nd half to the next year onward.

But it will grow as the months go by , mainly the cancelled Concorde SST orders from Iran Air, Pan American World Airways, Continental Airlines, Braniff International Airways or Lufthansa, things like that
But also upcoming Tu-144S & Tu-144D models that herpa Wings will hopefully release as likewise.

For the Concorde's, later liveries of British Airways & Air France will also be added, so after my B747 Collection I continue with SST's mainly Concorde's as they have more choice

Re: Here my Entire Model Aircraft Collection and what follows :) 2019/07/26 13:53:40 (permalink)
Hey all :-)

Great news here!

Today I decided this to be my 2nd replacement for this one:

Boeing 747-4HAF/ER/SCD
TNT Global Express Logisitcs & Mail "Orange Head Livery"
OO-THA
Scale 1:200
Skymarks PVC Models

To this:

Boeing 747-121
Pan American World Airways "Delivery Livery December 19,1969"
N734PA "Clipper Flying Cloud"
Scale 1:200
Gemini Jets 200

PAA's B747-121 N734PA "Clipper Flying Cloud" & PAA B747SP-21 N538PA "Clipper Princess Grace" are my Pan Am B747 set, they resemble how epic and legendary Pan American World Airways was from beginning to end, that being Delivery Livery to Billboard Livery, sadly I don't have any of the experimental liveries, just no space for that.

Both Pan Am & Boeing designed the B747-100 & B747SP, so it's a real must have as it took part of the development for both B747 conventional models as the B747SP.
Also the landing gear from the B2707-100 & 200 SST's were reused for the B747 as well as the triple slot flaps designs from the B2707-100 & 200 SST's as well.
Only the B747SP had a different wing design, flap design as well a larger vertical & horizontal stabilizer design to make it more stable in flight due to the 13.75 meter shorter fuselage.

So yea no Thai B747-2D7B, this was to me the better and obvious choice to make
Enjoy the photo's once again but this will be my last model for a very long time until the QANTAS/Martinair B747-21AC/B the PH-MCF arrived in 2020.

So here the photo's of the box:

Here the box Contents as you can see it's central dorsal antenna was missing, after I phoned John from Arcunia he arranged a new one via mail and the next day it arrived neatly, I applied it to the model with a dip of super glue xD See that little hole, lal xD

As these photo's show she's like new again as if nothing was ever missing so thanks for that John / Arcunia <3

Here the model it's self:

I'm glad this one worked out well also note the silver Boeing 747 logo, KLM has this up front in Gold!

As for the SATCOM.. yea.. they did apply an outline but they never applied the real thing like Inflight 200 did do, a shame though, but I guess you can't have everything, it's a fantastic model though the colors are accurate decals you name it, this thing is a must have for all you B747 collectors & fans:

This Boeing 747-100 is a piece of art, also note the central dorsal antenna I neatly applied with my crappy shaky hands, so relieved it worked out :X

But being Gemini jets 200 like JC Wings I would of expected it to have crystallized landing lights in the main wing, my JC Wings/BBOX Singapore Airlines B747-412 Tropical Megatop Livery has them also painted, but the nose gear does have them, a shame the wing landing gear lights were not crystallized as with most other Gemini Jets 200 & JC Wings Models, so this with the missing SATCOM are the only negative points I can give this model; but despite those things it still stands out as one of the best B747-100 models on the market if classic liveries are your thing"

Here the facial shot, always look'n great when it comes to these classics

But hey I'm not too bothered of the minor mistakes it has, still super glad with this masterpiece none the less

This model just nails that classic feel

And here the other side, still a breath taking view to be honest;
"Clipper Flying Cloud" her name that is, still in the classic bold black lettering.

This was changed in Pan Am Blue somewhere in the early 1970's in running writing style;
A cool detail:

Here a nice angled rear shot I made of this classic bird from 1969:

Here a similar **** but from a higher view angle:

Pan Am World Airways tail logo;
The old World Airways logo this was it seems which was red before Pan Am took over World Airways:

Here I managed to take a good rear shot of this classic:

Upper rear view:

Dorsal Top view:

Keel Belly view:

Here the Stand Shots:

The stand is not wood but dark brown painted metal, looks classy and still shows a quality model, Good job Gemini Jets!

This model is amazing in every view, the more photo's I make of it the more i love it:

The other side,always look'n great!

Also note the extra details applied to the Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7A's Reverse Thrust Valves;
It's just nice to see there was attention put to those, just brilliant:

Here some shots I took of my two Pan Am B747's that are these two:

Boeing 747-121
Pan American World Airways "Delivery Livery December 17,1969"
N734PA "Clipper Flying Cloud"
Scale 1:200
Gemini Jets 200

Boeing 747SP-21
Pan American World Airways "Billboard Livery 1984-1991"
N734PA "Clipper Princess Grace"
Scale 1:200
Inflight 200

Limited Edition 1 of 312pcs

Hereby I made this nose to nose closeup shot, also as banner for my Boeing 747 Community:

Here an other one which I took a bit from a distance showing the inner engines:

Here the fully zoomed out shot of the two:

They make a lovely set here some other shots I took of these two:

Here some stand shots of the two:

And here the Final Display of the two in my main collection display in my living room:

During my research in to this model I listened to a lot of Genesis, so this song I chose to go with it:

Genesis - Tell me Why

During the War times Pan Am was in all their rough times this song kind of fitted it all, they were always at the wrong time in the wrong place which eventually was their downfall.

Re: Here my Entire Model Aircraft Collection and what follows :) 2021/01/26 10:57:05 (permalink)
Hey all

It has been a very long while that I posted updates in this thread, got 38 scale 1:200 diecast B747's at the moment, with a 39th in transit and the 40th being reserved.
And yes more will be added over he year of 2021

32 B747's in the main display, the ones on top are old scale 1:72 model kits fro 25+ years ago, still got them had 80+  only 11 from my old fleet survived :)

The secondary display has some B747SP's and my SST's aka Super Sonic Transports like the Tu-144's & Concorde's and some other aircraft:

Here the tertiary display, three B747's in here always room to ad a few more, running out of space it sucks you probably can relate,it's the one fear for all us collectors no matter what ever the item are running out of space is never fun  xD

And the Gamma cabinet has my jets in it these are all scale 1:72, might add a Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk  and a MiG-35 Fulcrum F, if that will ever get released.

As the B747's go, they are the main interest for my aircraft collection, so today I Bought this one as the 39th diecast scale 1:200 B747 of my collection:

Boeing 747-406
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines "Delivery Livery 1989"
PH-BFA "City of Atlanta" "First KLM B747-400"
Scale 1:200
Inflight 200

Limited Edition 1 of 100pcs

In February this one as the 40th will be added, one I already have reserved:

Boeing 747-4F6
Air New Zealand "The Lord of the Rings - Return of the King Livery 2003 - 2004"
ZK-SUJ "Auckland"
Scale 1:200
JC Wings

Limited Edition 1 of 120 pcs

After Feb 24, the ANZ B747-4F6 will arrive.

There are times I reserve a discontinued model for even half a year, and when the time I buy it and that has gotten me some are examples.

I will post the B747 reviews in my B747 thread here at EVGA, as computers go losing interest in that  but Boeing 747 models yea this is lots of fun, keeps me busy :)

It's best we all enjoy life for what it gives us in return

And maybe your should make a topic of your Warhammer collection, might be an interest for others to see here as well

About 34 years of Warhammer 40k.  Stripped everything I painted from 1987-2002 or 3. Then Keep finding rarities of larger stuff on ebay I buy and strip to even restore that most would bin/toss in the trash. So my pile of shame now includes a bunch of stripped miniatures many that the super clean ate the glue away*glad I used super glue* that have to be repainted, new stuff in boxes to Forge World bags for the more expensive resin stuff Games Workshop makes for the hobby. Then I keep buying. Have so much newer stuff and some older stuff at like 50-95% painted, to stuff 99% done or at least I will call done once I do the transfers, last weathering and sealing. Have like over 1000 pictures I think on FB with stuff at various stages in an album. Also keep buying more stuff...

This was a rescue from Ebay that would had been thrown away once only available in the UK. Almost done...

This was a rescue purchased from a used wargaming vendor someone tried to build and failed miserably at.

One of my Big crazy Forge World tanks.

Not trying to highjack your thread. But as you can see stuff is close to done but not fully there.
