What is the best way to monitor CPU usage in game? I know some will say afterburner, but that won't work with my FTW3 card fan wise. As for task manager, it doesn't seem to stay current or stops and then show current when you pause game and click on it. I'm thinking about using Intel extreme tuning, but not sure it will stay current and have to keep pausing game. It's a shame Evga precision doesn't have it.

You could try out the Trial version of Aida64.  See how that works for you.  I've been using it for many years.  You can monitor about anything.  > http://www.finalwire.com/

Or if you do not want to spend forty dollars on an annual subscription there is HWiNFO for comprehensive hardware analysis and monitoring with the ability to create logs plus can be customized and is regularly updated.

     But wait there's more!
Monitoring and logging can also be done with Microsoft's Performance Monitor and best yet if have Windows it is already installed.

Yeah but OP will need to have Excel or something like that if they want to be able to look at the Core Temp logs.
I only used Core Temp a short time with Win7 so I could use the Gadget. Ha-ha

Not using the Gadget, forgot about it. I did not see anything about logs or Excel though.

Install MSI Afterburne and its RivaTunerStatistics server (included in the installer). There are so many parameters that the user can monitor including fps, CPU usage, CPU clock, CPU temperature, GPU usage, GPU clock, and GPU temperature. The user can also adjust the color, the size of the font, and the location of the overlay monitor.

    Regards,
