Occasionally when I turn my PC on it will make a single loud beep and than display "62" on the on-board screen. When this occurs the PC does not output anything to the monitor... Monitor simply enters sleep mode as it does not detect any signal at all. Simply turning the PC off and back on resolves the issue.

PC Specs:
EVGA X299 Dark

EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 P2
Intel i7-9800x

BIOS Version - 1.17

    Hello,

When this board POSTS successfully that onboard screen will, by default, show the temperature of the CPU. Is this steady at 62 or does it fluctuate around it? Although it would be strange for the CPU temp to be 62 degrees at start up. When you get this error it sometimes is an issue with the GPU. You may want to do some extended testing with this card in another computer
to see if the issue still carries over.

    Hello,

To add to that, may want to also do a BIOS update for your board. See if that helps.

The number never fluctuates when its displayed and it seems to always be the same number, I cant imagine that its the temperature of the CPU being displayed since at idle I am sitting around 30c on both the GPU and CPU. Worth noting that I have changed the default value of the on-board screen to show the VCCIN voltage instead of the default CPU temp. My initial thoughts have been that this was a GPU issue as well... almost like the GPU is not outputting any signal for some reason, however I have done extensive testing of the GPU, CPU, and RAM with no issues being found. Nor do I have any random PC lockups or blue-screens, system overall appears to be stable and running without issue. The only time that there is any issue is when turning the PC on and this occurs only occasionally maybe 2 or 3 times a month.

Maybe a Bad Hard Drive or Device or even Cable or even your M.2 Device is not plugged in correctly.
Reset your Bios back to the Defaults or Just set the CPU and Memory back to Auto.
Remove any USB Devices other than your Mouse and Keyboard
Could even be a bad Power Cable on your Graphics Card, make sure the Pins are all the way in and the connector is Locked in.
If you still get the Post Code 62 disconnect your Drives all but the OS Drive. Also make sure it is Code 62 and not b2

If you have the option, test a different power supply. Once had a 550 watt PSU fail and cause this issue.

Interesting. I have two Corsair Commander Pros connected to my PC via USB... In addition to suspecting the GPU as the cause I have also suspected the Commander Pros. Sometimes when this occurs I find that the Commander Pros have lost there configuration and I have to restore my settings using backups that I have.

I dont believe that anything is wrong with my M.2 drive. I will check all of the cables and whatnot later as I plan on tearing the system down and replacing all of the power cables. Thanks for the advice!

Its not really that simple... even if I had another power supply the issue does not happen often enough that I would easily be able to test. It only happens to 2 to 3 times a month at the most. I will however keep an eye on it, thanks!

    Hello,

This is definitely going to be a bit tough since this doesn't happen often. I would still say give any of our suggestions a shot.
Its going to take some time but this will be necessary in order to get down to the foot of the problem.
I'd says checking those cables like you mention is a good place to start along with the BIOS update since those are easy to do.
Let us know if any other issues arise as you are doing this.

Yeah, way I look at it is that its not really that big of an issue at this point... I figure if its hardware related it will get worse with time and everything is under warranty so I am not too concerned about it.  Thank though!

You sure the code isnt b2? which is gpu initialization. Try reseating gpu and make sure the pcb contacts are clean, if the issue persists try a second gpu if you have one handy.

Update, PC did the whole beeping thing and not displaying anything again however this time the post code was D6. Which appears to indicate that the mother board is not able to locate a GPU? Can anyone confirm?

Also I have this red flashing light near my PCIe port... I had previously been told by EVGA tech support that it was a HD activity light for the NVME drive, but just to confirm I have uploaded a video of the light in question to YouTube (see link below). It is diffcult to see which light on the motherboard is flashing in that video and if I light up the case you cant really see the flashing light. I marked on the attached photo the exact LED that is flashing red... its circled in red you may need to zoom in on the image.

Drained the loop this morning and pulled the GPU out and re-seated it. Did not see any visible dirt or "problems" with the card or the slot. Also went ahead and reset the CMOS so that the mother board could "relearn" everything. Lets see if this makes any kind of difference...

    Update:
I believe that I have corrected this issue... did a few different things so I am not 100% sure which one was the fix.
    1. Pulled the GPU and reconnected it.
    2. Cleared the CMOS, reset BIOS so that it would re-learn everything.
    3. Disabled boot from USB, I keep a USB flash drive connected to the PC for storing BIOS profiles and screenshots.
      1. Removed the USB device from the BOOT order.
      2. Also disabled the USB device under "UEFI USB Key Drive BBS Priorities"

Thanks for the help and suggestions!
